Looking forward to heading out this morning. I've spent the week indoors on a treadmill so this my first day out.

All dressed up and finally some place to go.

Happy Holidays everyone.

Didn’t mean to step on princess toes, no slight intended, M P, désolée.
Heading out the door in a few minutes to get lost for an hour hopefully. When I get back I have to shovel that crud the city has managed to scrape once again into our entrances making it difficult for smaller cars to get in.
Got up to find our fancy goldfish has died, it lived almost 10 years. sad1.gif Little df isn`t going to be happy but she is getting an aquarium for Christmas so stocking that and keeping it going will hopefully help.
Then grabbed the toaster and the bagels, to find the toaster isn`t working anymore, franchement. I am not going back to a mall again today.. angry1.gif

Merry Christmas everyone, and I mean everyone, paie, joie et amitié. Enjoy the time off, be safe, be good. I know some of you will be travelling, Godspeed.

Thanks DF. I like writing it as well. I find it pretty easy, I just put on words what I was thinking about during my training.

Bonjour!

I'm from (and now near) Montréal. I have lurked your CR thread for quite a while.

I don't run much these days: I spend all my time on this forum!

Ah.. nice run this morning. Ran PS and BF from the gym to the Peel Basin across the old port to Berri and up the bike path to parc Lafontaine before returning by way of Rachel and down Parc Ave.

It was nice and balmy with no snow nor ice on the roads The sidewalks however, are still messy. Ah... clear roads, unlike Grommit, I prefer clear flat roads. Yup, I'm an princess when it comes to long runs. Mind you, PS and BF find that I sprinkle too many hills in our runs.

Hi MP, Martin

Roly and Grommit...dam...now I am so tempted...

I emailed that Dan guy a couple of years ago about his Jay Challenge and he sort of "dissuaded" me. I think he thinks I am too much of a rpincess...what he doesn;t realize is that i am a hard core princess biggrin.gif

Hi martin...martin is very cool..even if he doesn't run.

Here is the link to my POTD post..it isn't cool like all your links but it will give you an idea of me smile.gif

This is what I look like when I race

This is in Sept...Festivel Oasis de Montreal

Bah, I saw your 100 mile pics, you are the same handsome grommit you always were!! I think it was about 6 years ago, that's probably the last year I was running at what, for me, was good distance. Long string of injuries has kept me on the bench, latest being ACL replacement in July so I am starting over from nada. Eventually I'll get over myself and just enjoy being a newbie again.

Good to see you here!!! Be nice to my friend MP or bad things will happen! biggrin.gif

Personnally, I would try UltimateXC before Jay. Just 10k first. Ok, I admit, I'm a wimp (or maybe an asphalt runner).

Skirts rock!! I love running in them...they are very princessy..especially in pink smile.gif

2 years ago I did A 25KM trail race..Run for the Toad in Paris Ontario..It was awesome and alot of fun...my only trail "race" but I love running off road and do as much of it as I can..I think I would do the 29km first...I don't wat to come in last biggrin.gif

Running gag Where is this UltimateXC you speak of...now I don't want to sound too sure of myself...but 10km...I don't even warm up after 10 km...10km are usually my recovery run distances

I am a bit slow at understanding these things LOL Thank you. Now I am going to be honest...when I contacted that Dan dude 2 years ago..he really intimidated me. I am not the fastest runner in the world but I have a head of steal and it really bothered me that he said he thought I should do more marathons before considering his race...especially when I ran into a mother at my kids school who has a cottage at Jay..is not a runner...knows this Dan dude..and told me that she was going to run it..and I said..and he is encouraging you to do this?? WTF???

Anyway..that never happened cause she gave up on running after 2 months..but it kind of pissed me off. I know I come off as a princess ..well I am a princess smile.gif...but it intimidated me..and but also...when I would lurk on CR at you guys I was also intimidated..so here is the question...even after my running partner died 2 months ago and Martin encouraged me to post...I was too intimidated. So this might be my own issue. sad.gif

To do the 29km at the Jay thing...what do I have to be able to do? I run between 45 and 70 miles a week...by the time Jay happens I will have 5 marathons under my belt and probably about 25 HM..I have never in 6 years gone more than 2 days without running except when I was really sick the week before the Adirondack Marathon in Schroon Lake 3 years ago and took off 5 days. I still ran the dam race with a fever. I am extremely determined...just not very fast.

One thing for sure, you are a determined princess!

You got your answer when you said that you are running between 45 and 70 miles a week. That's a lot of volume and it means that you have enough strength and endurance for Jay. Maybe you should add some trail and hill running, but that's about it.
