Monday, July 25 - WORKOUTS!

Good morning, TEAM LIT!

Sparty, Yo, Cak: Happy to hear you all connected! Congrats to you racers. And Sparty, 14 of 17 is very impressive. Let's finish up with a few straight!

Zoj: I missed it: where you vacationing? VB?

I have a fairly "big" week of doctor appointments. One with the more conventional medical path toward diagnosis, and one on the homeopathic way. Although they are parallel paths, each together will tell me what my next parallel course of diagnosis will be. I have the names of several doctors that I'm waiting to make an appointment with. One is a Lyme specialist while another is top in field in Endo. I'll pull the trigger on one of them, likely Lyme, after these appointments. Because I am going no where with my current path, which now is three different parallel courses, one of which fizzled and two which are active.

Weekend Recap...

Saturday: 6 mile walk with some toe tapping. I toe tapped for the first 1.75 miles, probably at a pathetic 13:00 minute mile, which was all I had, and then had to walk/toe-tap the rest of the way. Felt really off due to illness but thoroughly enjoyed being out there. Still wrapping my head around enjoying what I can do rather than what I used to do. Would be easier if I just felt better.

Sunday: 2.5 mile walk. Body trashed from walk yesterday, doing work around the house, playing with kids, etc. This type of day never had an impact on me before, but it's a new world in my body.

Monday: 2.5 mile walk. Body trashed. Silly illness.

Great day, friends!

Thor - good thoughts your way this week!

Day 18 Plyometrics is in the books. Woke up feeling icky (swollen glands), but ibuprofen and lots of gargling is helping. 15 of 18

Totally hilarious!!!
May require some explanations. This race cak and I did and Sparty volunteered requires you to swim three lakes carrying your running shoes in some ways. See how fashionably cak carried hers.

Hi all!

Is anyone else having a hard time posting on this darn site? It's deleted my posts several times now.

Thor- "I was able to toe tap for the first 1.75 miles, probably at a 13:00 minute mile..." I fixed that for you. Remember, it's not really about where you were, it's about where you are and where you're going. Hang tough friend and do what you can do when you can do it!

As for me this weekend:
Both kids were in town Friday and Saturday. Had a fun dinner and then roasted marshmallows and drank wine.
Sunday we did a Shakespeare in the Park and picnic. Saw the Merry Wives of Windsor. Lots of fun!
As for workouts- 28 mile bike on Saturday. Took it easy and babied the ankle on all of the hills. Had fun though with a great group of friends.
Sunday I had a 1.75 mile run with a 1.00 mile warm up and a .25 mile cool-down.

Happy Monday everyone!

Julie - yes! I'm doing the extreme version. Too bad for me, I've eaten all the sugar I could find lately and am up 3lbs, but the workouts have been really good for me.

DOR for me. I do love my rest days. Especially since tomorrow is hill repeat day and we've bumped up to 1.5 min up. Ugh! I liked 1 min up much better. May do on TM at lunch to avoid the heat and bugs post work option.

I could use some serious healing thoughts and prayers for my loving father in law. He found blood clots in his leg about 10 days ago. A few procedures, medications and some seriously risky decisions, now bleeding in his brain. DH is waiting for his sister and niece to get here any minute so they can drive together to see him. His other two siblings are there already. I want his bear hugs and so many funny stories again. {{{Dad}}}

Yoshiko, so sorry to hear about your father-in-law. Thoughts and prayers headed your way.

Battle of Waterloo was great fun and hard work! R-B-S-R-S-R-S-R-B-R...run on trails, bike on a bike borrowed from a friend, swim with shoes in my shorts. I executed my plan well on race day and ended up with a finishing time that blew away my expectations (5:00:38, without the race delay for lightning approx 4:3. So glad the photographer noted me striking a pose and captured that moment in a photo! Really glad I got to spend time with some folks whom I don't see all that often.

Big thanks to Sparty for standing out in the rain all day, directing athletes on course!
