Weekend Workouts - 8/15 and 16

Okay - even though Adam's got all our workouts covered for the weekend ....

59+ mile group ride with the Bagelry crew.

Hope everyone else is enjoying their centuries (MQ), runs, swims, mountain bike adventures, sailing, Ironman suffer-fest, or whatever!

geo.

Geo - you totally deserve the bragging right! Are you getting the 'fever' to train a bit more and to get even faster?! I bet you smashed your previous PR with this race in the AG-adjusted time. Nice ride, too

Sparty - I don't remember how close you are to the Woodward, must be crazy there today. Glad the weather is good - it brings some good business to the locals

2hrs run with DH, half of which on the nearby trail. There is a Mtb time trial going, ran into a few friends. DH is thinking to head out to race

Excited about tomorrow, following the IM racers. What an accomplishment , just to make to the starting line.

I agree Yo Sake - HUGE accomplishment!

Back from a week in FLA with the family...so much fun and so relaxing even though we did hit 3 parks and the Kennedy Space Center (SO VERY COOL!)...came home last night to one very excited pup!

SO...managed to get in a workout just about every morning before we did stuff, for a total of

2 hours running
1 hour 20 min of swimming
30 min on the stat bike, and...
TONS of walking! (oh and a couple of weight sessions thrown in as well)

Miss the resort already!!

Today - 50 miles w/DH...oof, that was a bit tough...but got it done

4k swim w/ a lot of hard intervals
fib
3:00 bike with 4x9 hard and 1x30 IM pace - this time I only made 46 miles instead so I think I didn't blow up like last weekend.

89 heat index in the end... at 10am.

Sunday was a 1:15 run - 5.6 miles is a quite peppy for me - in absurd heat. Started 70 degrees w/ 98% humidity ZERO wind. By the time I was done was 78 degrees, 78% humidity and a very light wind which didn't help. I was drenched with sweat and kept running in the lawns to run through sprinklers to get some relief.

FIB 2:30 bike w/ 10x1 HARD mile repeats. Temps kept rising and it was 90 degrees at the end. I drank 4.5 bottles and wore 3 more

Wow was I happy that was it for the workout today, because in the heat and with those efforts... yuk

This was my highest volume week so far at just over 20 hours. This weekend was:

Friday: 4000 yards in the pool
Saturday: century ride...very hot and hilly
Sunday: 65 mile ride + 12 mile run

No knee issues which was a huge relief for me.

Folks are out there killing it for sure!

Sat: Century ride, Blazing Saddles supported century. They put on a GREAT ride! Hot as hades but got it done and did not feel too awful.
Sun: @ mile wild fish swim race. 1:07:11 Not as fast as I wanted. Not entirely great swim water in Collins Cove in Salem. Still, got it done and if I can do that pace in MD I'll be exactly where I want to be time-wise.
