The longest town name in the GB is Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysilio gogogoch (a Welsh village with a deliberately elaborate name for publicity purposes). My grandmother liked to recite the town name

6.5 mile/40 minute ellipticating for me in the usual manner (5 min increments / 40-75% resistance - 6:09 o/a pace).

Hopefully it'll be back on the bike tomorrow, after the biblical downpours...

Also, billy goats must be remarkably agile creatures.

Great day all!

3 mile run on the TM (heard thunder as I walked out the door so turned around and headed back inside)

Lol fun MQ. Those poor penguins!

Haven't checked in for a few days, just doing some taper workouts, easy intensity ride today and 45 minute run with some taper repeats.

Race temps may hit 106, new race start for CDA is 5:30 for pros 5;45 for age groups with rolling start. Looking forward to it

Just glad to be starting. One year ago I walked into the doctors office 50 pounds overweight with health issues galore. Last february was still 40 pounds heavy but I got down to where I can wear my old clothes after finally digging my way out. So win win All around no matter what happens Sunday.

Good luck niemsco! You know how to race smart, so....race smart.

Got in four miles or so after work. Not much pep in my step, but so it goes. Dive bombed by a few blackbirds as usual. Hate those things this time of year.

Good luck out there Scott!

Does driving for 4hrs with a death grip on the steering wheel count as a workout? Did some hiking with the kids, didn't break a sweat. Was supposed to run a couple of miles, but it didn't happen. Looks like it will be a 2 run week with one of those runs being a half marathon...

Fun fact? The village I grew up in is so small there isn't even a 4-way stop.

What crazy fun facts MQ!
And Scott, wow, what an accomplishment! I met you - 50lbs on your small frame is like .... 50lbs on me. Good luck - win win win all the way around indeed.

Fun fact...hmmmm.... Got to think about it...

I didn't post yesterday. Just couldn't get up in the AM... So exhausted. Plus 4hrs drive totally killed me and took a rest day.

Today wasn't much different - got to work really hard to push me out of bed. Made to the pool for a sluggish 2400m.
Walked 3.4 miles during lunch time listening to Marc Maron's interview of Prez Obama. Crazy... a comedian interviewing the prez in his garage. Did anybody listen ?
Evening was a much needed time riding dirt road with girls. 31.5miles. Three showed up with Fat Tires and one with a singlespeed. So I didn't have to work hard to keep up with them. Now I don't know if I can get up early enough tomorrow to run....

Haven't checked in much either, fininshing off 2 proposals that are due at 3am today. Right now I am waiting for people to get the last minute bits back to me. Its weird for me to be up at this part of the night.

Fun or not-so fact validation I saw an eagle eating a young deer it would rip off part and take them up in the tree (Alaska of course)
I did 2 loops of my 3 mile hill walk today and the same yesterday. Tomorrow (which is now today) I want to swim after I actually wake up!

Good luck Scott! And 50? Wowza!

Had a 1hr ride w/ 2x10 HARD - ouch. Still beat up from last week.
1:20 run trying to peg down IM pace, always come off fast on the pace, so had to really work to pace properly. I did but my back is still all kinds of exhausted and got pissed so it wasn't a fun workout.
