Tuesday, May 26 - WORKOUTS!

Good morning, TEAM LIT!

Today Maddie, my youngest, is 11 months young. Amazing how quickly time went and how quickly time will no doubt go. I'm afraid to blink and when I open my eyes I'm chasing some punk away from the house because he's stalking my baby girl.

Me...

7 mile social run early this morning with 3 others.

Great day, friends!

Some really awesome long workouts this weekend!! MQ and GEO nice job getting out there Sat in those chilly temps! I moved my run to Saturday as I was too much of a wimp to ride lol.

crazy end of week at work meant too many days off (but working until 9 pm or later every night does not make workouts happen). Then my PT brutalized (I mean, grastoned and cupped) my cranky calf on Friday, so Saturday became a rest day too.

rode (inside) Sunday to test the calf (good!), walked yesterday (calf not so good again).

Just over 2 hours on the trainer this morning (after I did some dishes and walked the dogs) riding TrainerRoad "mokelumne" and "pensacola stage race." Had to pause for a couple of breathers during the second ride, but I got it done. Not sure if it's the usual "efforts on Tuesdays the day after a DOR typically feel more difficult" or if it's still AmZof recovery or if it's still fatigue from Saturday's long ride brick.

More fun in store for later today!

Julie - great news on improved form and bike fit. Hopefully you've got it licked for good!

Em - Hope your calf de-cranks!

Triple day ... going to be a slow ride home!

20+ commute in (high 18s).

Solid 4.5 mile run at lunch in the heat. Typical fast two miles (7:10-ish pace), followed by two-ish recovery miles, and slight pick-up on the way home. Surprised myself with a 7:36 pace o/a. Felt like I was losing it in the middle ... and definitely felt I was going to lose it at the end!

20+ commute home.

Great day all!

Geo

Lots of good riding going on around here!

3 mile tempo run, no walk breaks just holding pace. It was beautiful for 75% of the run!

Oh, I had a nice conversation with my PT about the cranky calf. It's (shocker) because my hip is not tracking correctly, so will not be fully solved until my hip improves. So since I'm not really training for anything (I'm just trying to get back into shape), I'm going to ride more and walk less, and delay my return to running.

Being smart about things kind of sucks.

Happy 11 months to your daughter Thor. I'm about at the point of chasing some young punk kids out as my daughter is now 13 years !

Early 4:30am swim for me 3600m, main set 4 x 600s, then drove to the forest preserve for a hard run .25-.5-.75-.75-.5-.25 mile repeats with a .12 recovery lap in between. It was more of a ladder track workout, but I refused to go to the track and just used garmin to cover the distances.

Good work everyone!

Nothing yet for me. It is a recovery/assessment week for me so I have swim test tonight after work. I'm already nervous. I really do not like the assessments but know they are necessary to help me reach my goals. Wish me luck!

Happy 11th month birthday, Maggie!
Zoj - hope Doc can identify and treats the issue quickly
Geo - impressive speed! And triple!
Scott - another crazy nuts, 4:30am?!!
MQ - good luck!
Em - keep up with those hip strength workouts. The results will come

2400 swim before the work. I felt really good, M/S was 5x{100 hard - 50 easy} at 3:00. Plenty of rest. 100m after this was 1:41. I'm getting there
6 mile run under hot muggy day. Included 16x100m in the middle.
Heading Yoga soon, inspired by Ron. Triple day myself!

way to get thru it cak
thanks everyone for the hugs and keep up the good workouts.
Tough back to work day for me. I'm stiff and sore here and there so lots of trigger point rolling and some stretching and an easy 3 mi walk, more tomorrow for sure!

Wow, everyone is doing great! ups and downs, it is all part of the game.

for me, a 1:15 bike w/ 4x7min Sprints trying to get HR to Z4 but couldn't get even top Z2. But I was tongue wagging, about to puke, and doing 25-28mph on the flats so I know it was not lack of trying. Probably just absorbing the weekend abuse. It's all good.
FIB

35 min run. Pacing was solid and more importantly, it didn't totally suck. Just a little suck. Which is ok because the first 30-40min always sucks. So less suck is a good improvement with the pace staying decent.

I'm starting to look cross eyed at my weekday workouts. They used to be all recovery. Now 1-2x are ball busters. Must be GO TIME! 7 weeks to go!

- If you think you can't, you're right.
- Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
- REJOICE and Whine not! For today you are doing that which most only dream.

400 was 7:11 + 200 was 3:28 + So overall an improvement from last time for each (7:25 and 3:33) Woot!

Boy, you're telling me! I've had to skip a couple of swims while trying to adapt to the increase in bike and run volume and I HATE skipping swims since they're like my only social workout. Coach has kicked things up a notch or two this year, IME. I was looking at my logs for an equivalent number of weeks out in 2014 and was all like, "WTF?!?!" Hope it pays off on race day!
