Thursday - April 9 Workouts

Had a fantastic swim this morning, which is very surprising since my energy levels were low because of the 2 hard rides, and tempo run within a 36 hour period.

Today was 2600yds. Even though I had speed intervals in the mix, I wasn't pushing the pace like a true speed interval. I was pushing, but I was really focusing on form and the small tweak that was given to me the other day. I was still moving at a faster rate, on less effort than I have in a long time, averaging just under 1:25/100, if you count each interval on it's own without rest. Proving again, that small changes can make a big difference.

6:47.1 - 400 warm up (100free/100back/100breast/100free),
5:15.5 - 300 drill on :20 rest,
5:53.8 - 300 kick (2 laps without flippers),
9:09.3 - 3 x 200 base intervals on :05 rest,
9:29.6 - 6 x 100 speed intervals on :10 rest,
7:14.9 - 400 cool down on :20 rest (100free/100back/100breast/100free),
43:50.2 - total.

Have a great day!!

Good morning, TEAM LIT!

x: nice swim!

Me...

4.5 mile run early this cold, rainy morning. Somehow got lucky that there were no slick spots. A good sign that my regular run, which had been really slow, is now getting faster and faster without trying. Wrapped up with a 7:15 without pushing. Another sign the dead legs are leaving. Still not back 100%, but it's real and a trend!

Great day, friends!

30min spin followed by PT work. Feeling marginally better, so that's good news!

X: Nice job! Especially with a tired body.
Thor: So very happy for you the legs are coming back!
Sparty, glad you are feeling better!
I think MQ is on vacation somewhere warm

Me: Piyo upper and lower define. Cross between yoga and pilates with lots of dynamic movement. I've made it my goal once a week to do a flexibility workout. It feels so good, especially with the weight training and tired muscles

Hi everyone!

We woke up to snow this morning. The weather gods still want us to enjoy winter it seems.

I got my international field experience postponement worked out. Instead of waiting to see when my Uganda trip will be rescheduled, I asked to join the India travel cohort so that means I'll be going to India on June 6th! I was really afraid that the Uganda reschedule was going to interfere with all of the other stuff I've scheduled this summer or that the terrorist warnings would persist which would cause further issues. I did have to defer Quassy Oly to 2016 since I'm leaving on the 6th.

Julie: This means that I will not be here for the Eastman sprint tri on June 20th as I don't return until the 24th. Sorry!!! I was really looking forward to seeing you there!

Yesterday: 60' power test on the trainer. My wattage for 5' VO2 and 20'FTP test increased by 5 watts each which I'm happy with given that I haven't done a lot of trainer workouts in the past 2 months.

Today: I was going to do my first road ride but I'm going to wait until next week once the snow melts. Will run instead.
