Wednesday, Dec 10 - workouts!

Good morning Team! Hope the folks on the East coast are doing ok.

DOR! Yay! Love Wednesday. Body feeling good, and I am looking forward to visiting my massage guy to see how my alignment is holding up. May try some strength workouts later.

I didn't make to the Barre class last night after a long, falling-asleep-on-a-wheel drive. Kids needed attention. DS had a wrestle off (?) and got a spot to the Varsity Wrestling team by beating a sophomore. Not sure if he could lose a spot if he loses the next wrestle off or what. But this Sat's meet would be interesting...

Have a great day!

Morning!
It's all rain where I'm at and we're not flooded, so all is good here.

3600y at masters swim this morning.
I should try to get on the trainer later because I'm traveling to MI (Kalamazoo) Fri-Wed and won't be able to ride.

We were stuck at home until mid-morning since our town was a sheet of ice, but then it switched to rain and was just annoying.

45 minute treadmill workout yesterday as:

10 minute walk (warm up)
15 minute run
4 x
1 min same running pace, incline (1%, 1%, 1.5%, 1.5%)
1 min 0.5 mph faster, decline mirroring incline (so, -1.0%, etc.)
1 min walk recovery @ 0% incline
1 x
90 seconds 2.0% incline, same running pace
90 seconds 2.0% decline, 0.5 mph faster
5 minute walk cooldown

50 min on trainer watching season 2 of Grimm. I have to admit I'm getting in the ride workouts just so I can watch Grimm. Sad, I know but effective nonetheless.

I never swam last night unless you count the soaking I got walking to the T station after work. I was not feeling it so I bagged it. I am lucky to still be able to do that right now. I know those days will come to an end when consistency will be king.

Another rain soaking here. My road is a water-and-ice-sludge covered mess. Hopefully it rains off today!

4.7(ish) mile run on the TM ... about 7:45 pace overall at 1 deg. Started at 7.6 (7:54 pace), and bumped it by .1 (6 secs) each mile until mile 4.5 - then went 8.1 (7:24) the last 1/4 mile or so... Intended to go 5 miles bumping up for the last 1/4 of the 5, but somehow managed to dislodge the safety key so stopped the treadmill before hitting 5.

Blast from the past! Thanks for sharing.

Me...

5 mile run early this morning in a misty, cold rain. Traction good, as temps stayed at around 37F.

Also been trying a few things to get rid of the dead legs. Been on the bike at the gym spinning pretty good for short time. Starting to get challenged by it, which is always what sucks me in. Staying away from Iron Strength, as I think it is among the reasons my legs refuse to respond with rest.

Great day, friends!

Fighting whatever plague my children currently have so 'workout' will just be some of my easy PT movements. Tried to do some Pilates, but just ended up laying on the floor...

Got up early to OW swim with an old friend and mentor with cooler temps and big waves we didn't' want him out there alone. I swam circles around him so I estimate a 2 mi ow swim. SUrf all around is huge, our area just big but quite the rip on the way in. I was glad to be there with my friend for that, he knew what it was but getting out of it was another matter. I should get on the trainer or the bike tonight but I'm not feeling it yet. Taking a friend to the eye doc tomorrow (no driving for her) so it may be an unplanned DOR.

Not at all sad.
I used Game of Thrones to help me through several trainer rides in early 2014!

Another day of rest for me as I'm not feeling great this week. I finally get through my end of term grading, finish my online class, have my student teacher teaching for me this week and I feel like crap. Hope this passes soon.

Mix of snow and lots of rain here and it is rather unpleasant outside. Our driveway is a luge run and we had a snow day today so it was nice to be home with the boys.

Light dusting of pretty snow around here. Nothing for me today. Eli getting over a pretty quick cold but lingering mucus at night and none of us are sleeping well. I have an appt with my IM about my heel tomorrow evening. It's getting worse and doesn't feel so much like PF, more in the heel bone and really aches at the end of the day. Hoping it's not a stress fracture. Been able to spin and swim and I've been doing iron strength but thinking the jumping is aggravating the heel. Looking forward to getting it figured out.
