Monday, Oct. 20 - WORKOUTS!

Good morning, TEAM LIT!

Yoshi: "Re: South vs North Kaibab Trail" Believe it or not, North Kaibab was the better trail -- by FAR! There were so many times on North Kaibab when were were like, dude, look at that! Let's stop.

Weekend Recap...

Saturday: 5 mile trail run with one other early in the morning. Tired. Needed headlamps.

Sunday: 6 mile social run with 6 others followed by breakfast afterward. Brought and pushed the birthday boy who was all of two years on this day.

Monday: 4 mile easy run early this morning.

Hmmm, anyone else having a hard time posting from their smart phones?
I had a whole reply yesterday on the weekend thread and it's not there.

An update from me-
I spent last week battling a cold and hoping that it would turn into something worse with my asthma. After getting 30 hours of sleep within 3 days I went out for a short easy 1 mile on Saturday to double check the lungs for Sunday.
All was good and then my nerves kicked in for my first trail race on Sunday.
I chose this one as it had a 5k option which I figured would be a good way to get my feet wet. Much of the race was more cross country style- grass and gravel but we did get to do a big climb into the trees and then run the switch backs down through the canopy. FUN STUFF!!!!
My next race is a 5 miler in November and from what I understand that one has a lot of climbing and is almost all single track. I already have tons of ideas for trail running... now I just need to find people to go with.

This evening I'll get out for either an easy run or I'll just take the dog for a walk.

Tammy - too bad you're so far away, would love to run trails with you!

I'm battling an epic tantrum throwing toddler today...and losing! 30min walk on the treadmill later today playing with incline plus my mile of school walks. In the mean time I'm trying to find my 5lb weights (I found the 2lb ones last week).

Have a good day peeps!

Thor - now your statement is making me want to go back and try the North rim.
TT - Yay! Fun stuff, uh?!
Sparty - hang in there. All is a part of raising kids. My 16 &14 still give me some boiling blood and heartache.

6miles including 4x200m / 2x400m strides. Legs felt heavy but the pace was good. As mentioned in the Ron's thread, I am going after BQ in Spring! 3;55 is what this old woman needs. 8:58pace. Have been searching which marathon to do. I did once 1mile course x 26.2 times (DNF at mile 21 due to calf cramp) in Feb in Ohio. I actually liked it. There is another one like this in Indiana in March. Circular logic or something like that. 1 mile loop. Unlike the one in Ohio, there are no 5k/10k runners (which was kind of pain to pass). I am thinking about it.

I think this might be it today due to the college info night.

Afternoon all! A commute day for me ... judging by the weather, maybe the only one for the week. Brisk this AM - just middle 16's. Same back for the usual 40...

Boiling blood sounds dangerous, Yo!

Hey, this old woman is going for one too we can meet up in Boston 2016!

Rest day, happy I didn't do any damage this weekend. Feet are good as long as I'm not barefoot.

MQ-HI! welcome back

A total DOR for me because I got a flu shot yesterday and both a sore arm (with a big hot spot) and a low grade fever today It sucks but sure beats the flu and I needed to study for a certification exam so it wasn't' the worst day to stay in! Tomorrow, I hope to get in a longer bike ride. I'm going to look for a group that supposedly meets every Tuesday to ride but its not clear they still exist. If not I'll just head out on my own from there.
I am supposed to be doing some shoulder work with the 2 lb weights sparty found. I can only find my 1lb and my 5lb (wish I could just swap with you). I'm using water bottler which are @ 1.5 lb as a compromise (but not today since the arm and shoulder are sore, should be back at it tomorrow).
