Good morning, TEAM LIT!
TASM: Thanks for the update on the treatments. I was thinking the symptoms would eventually pick up. Not happy to hear, but happy that you're dealing with them well. We will provide that warm blanket for you to pounce right through them. Also, love, love that you're rowing and doing what you can (re: planks), driving, driving, driven!
hobey: Thanks for laugh :) I haven't seen a marble in the cup in a very, very, very long time...
Tamster: I love this: "Introduce The Chief to the family, huh?" :) :) :)
5 mile run early this morning. Honest pace at times, but worked for it. Legs heavy from Iron Strength yesterday (just legs listed):
7 min as 15 jump squats w/24 lb weighted bar and 20-25 sec rest
6 min as 10 jump squats w/48 lb bar and 30+ sec rest
6 min as 10 jump squats w/48 lb bar and 30+ sec rest
Took this up a notch by moving to two sets of 48 lb bar.
5 mile run this morning, mostly in Z2. First run of more than a couple miles since the Marathon and yes, I am working on a RR. After reading both of Thor and Alaska Mike's, I caught the bug. Unfortunately they are hard acts to follow, so it's taking me longer due to trying to live up to the high bars they set.
Have a great day!!!
I've finally and officially decided on my plans for the summer. I'll do the Oly at Chelan in mid-July, Lake Stevens 70.3 in mid-August (I'm transferring my CdA slot to this), a little site-seeing 13.1 run with Bannon's better half in early September and I'm planning to get out to do a century with Hobey in late September. I've settled on my training plan(s) and feeling like I have a path again. Phew... that was a long meandering process.
So today I'm going out for my long ride since I'll be at Grandma's house this weekend. Weird, my long ride right now consists of 1.5 hours. My last long ride was 5. Anyway, should be fun to get back out there and I've even got some nice weather too.
P.S. I talked to DH last night about joining the fam. He's seriously considering it. Most of you already know him and he figures that you'll all be a wealth of information. So true.
Happy Hump Day!
So my "reputation" continues to grow by leaps and bounds around here thanks to Sparty, MoCo, and Cake. Not sure how to interpret that.....
Returning to century training, bike commute in this morning and then the long way home this afternoon to push my total miles to 20 or so.
X: Are you finding new run routes now that you've moved to refresh your mind while on the run?
I had an early morning continuing ed class to get to on time so no workout for me today.
TASM: Keep on keepin on!!!! You are one tough lady :)
TT: Yippee to your plan. Still sounds pretty crazy to me! I've only done 1 70.3 and that was enough for me!! lol I wouldn't mind doing a century though. Love those long rides!! It's running 13.1 after a long ride that I dislike lol
Sparty: Say it isn't so! Note to Sparty's knees: Behave yourself!
X: Get that report to us soon :)
Me: 20 mile lunchtime ride. Love being out there again. Wanted to run today but my right foot was a little sore (WTF) and with Big Lake Saturday I thought better of it. Hoping to run tomorrow. Freaking out about the race since I haven't run since Sunday :( Tell me that doesn't matter and I will be just fine. Goal is just to finish. No time goals this time!
MQ: I will message you my cell on FB so we can meet up Saturday am! We will have to take a photo for the gang :)

It doesn't matter. You will be just fine. All the work is in the bank. All you could do now is mess it up by doing to much on a barky foot. So don't do that.
There are bunches of good tips on this board, but not sure this is one of them. Bannon, you going to post a pic of how this is done. Deep from the archives?
Poked out 4x880 on the track at something around wannabee 5k pace. First day over 80 degrees in a very long time.
X: best bet is give is a few more days, and we will forget those other RRs and be thirsty.
nothing today except a DT massage and lots of worky work work.
TT...looking forward to following your season and the start of Steve's tri journey!
Julie...fingers crossed for Big Lake (and for MQ, too)!
TASM...halfway theeeeerrrre! hang tough. you got this!
Hobey...hope the weather wasn't too bad for your commute
Yay for 5K baselines!
DOR for me yesterday...aside from reading Thor's epic Providence marathon race reports. Whew! Seriously, tho, loved every minute of it.
1800y at masters swim this morning (lane mates seemed a bit bummed I cut out early since I was leading). Bubble is scheduled to be removed from the pool late next week. It's wonderful and all to look forward to this when it's all sunny & warm in the afternoon, but the early mornings are still in the 40s. Brrrrr.
After a lengthy transition (20-30min?), I did a 45 minute trainer ride.
Met with my coach early this evening. Got all freaked out about his emphasis on arranging group rides for the longer stuff. I'm not that good at organizing such things.
Also, cleaned the bathtub in preparation for soaking my wetsuit in it. Sprint tri on Sunday with OWS so I'd like to get in and paddle around a bit before then.
Cak - You know that paddling around a little in the bathtub won't really help much, right?
