Today: I'll swim
Yesterday: Rev3 Old Orchard Beach. A great day for racing, an "ok" day for me. A bit slower, but my training is different and had a better run. than ran 8 more, totally bonked, but recovered. Note: If you stop to chat for an 40 after a race and before a run, eat something or when you start running, you'll be on empty.
Sat: 55ish miles on the 1/2 course - last year I rode 25 EASY, so that's what I don't think I had as great of a race, but you know, IM awaits in less than 27 days!

Waiting for the reports to roll in :) Would have liked to have hooked up at OOB, but relatives were up for my birthday weekend, so ...
Me - 53-odd group ride on Saturday AM ... mid-17s up a hilly route, so not bad. Sunday, just an easy b-day ride with DD (about 17 miles at an easy pace).
Looks like a rain-DOR for me. Good time to go get the car inspected...

Looking forward to the race reports. Many had great races!
Saturday: 17 mile road long run, the first this long on hard pavement in a long time for me, in total time of something over 2 hours. I had 2:36 from start to the very end -- I don't hit stop when we stop to drink, etc. Had company of three others. According to a friend w/GPS, we avg'd 7:45 overall while running. Went like this:
o WU - 7 miles social/easy ~8:05 pace
o 5 miles faster ~7:40 pace
o 5 miles even faster ~6:55 pace
*Not quite back but getting there. Had three opportunities where I was able to rev up into the 6's (pace wise) for a mile or two.
Sunday: 5 mile solo trail run at my favorite set of trails. Completed the loop in record time. Was a bit surprised at how well I felt.
Monday: 4 mile easy road run on an otherwise recovery day.
Adam, sounds like you handled the weekend perfectly, nice work.
No weekend workouts due to DD moving and other family things that had to be done. Tough schedule when the 6:30am rides have to given up. I did lift before opening the fitness center at the Y this morning.

I am back from vacation and at the office today :( Doggy walk later and some yoga. Quads a little sore and stiff but was on coolrunning this morning figuring out my fall race schedule, yes I am motivated!!!!

Not really tapering per se, but I am really looking forward to a significantly faster swim this coming weekend!
Played host to a 6 kid campout at my house this weekend. Managed to squeeze in a 45 minute indoor spin on Saturday, and a 22ish mile ride yesterday. Am now fighting a cold and completely exhausted (now you know why I don't have kids). Whith a splitting headache and a dentist apt this afternoon I might just give in and call it a rest day.

Sat: Brick of 2 hour ride followed by 45 min run; a swim later in the day
Sun: volunteering as a finish line catcher at IMKY. I "caught" the 5th place male and 3rd place female. That was pretty cool. However, it was an absolute privilege to catch the second to last finisher at 16:59:38. Seeing those last finishers come though was absolutely amazing. Completely motivated. It looks like IMKY 2014 for me!

oh and I have to fly half way back across the country and get home!
Oh and Sat - 10min swim + 20min bike + way too much walking around - guessing 8 miles? In new shoes. My feet were shredded PLUS the puncture wounds from Thursday didn't appreciate it
When I put the bike together... it didn't work. Handlebars would flop left and right regardless of the wheel direction. So lots of screwing around and waiting on that count. Bike guys did fix it.
And Sunday raced HalfRev Aquabike - 3:51ish, finally a sub3 bike. Ego needed that -last 3 races have been around 4 hours (but also STUPID hilly). OOB was a nice bike course but constant rollers, no real major climbs. Swim was long. RR coming... umm... yeah, it's coming.
Mon- DOR! Totally wore recovery compression tights under my skirt to work.
Fri- DOR...drove to OOB
Sat- OWS in the ocean with MQ, a good deal of walking around, pedicure with Monica
Sun- OOB half...it was, indeed, a very good day...working on the RR...really...
