I read this earlier today. I am happy for her but sad too! She is a great inspiration!

Although I had seen the announcement elsewhere, I had not read this particular Chicago blog post about it.  I highly doubt that we'll see Chrissie Wellington at Bigfoot anytime soon.  biggrin.gif

140.3? Oops...anyway sad to see her go. She will probably show up on an epic adventure race team Eco challenge.

Sad to see.  Loved to see her smiling on the run, as if she was having the time of her life.  Seriously doubt she will ever totally retire from the sport.  It will be interesting to see where she goes from here.

I have read a few forums and all the speculations as to why. a lot of thoughts leading to pushing yourself beyond what you should. Got me to think at what point you get from healthy to unhealthy/obsessive....

She is my favorite triathlete and I hope she has a happy & balanced life. I really enjoyed her book.

At this point, I think it makes sense. I mean really, world champ x4.. world record holder... really, what's left?
