Can we keep it out of the daily? I like to record the races and watch at night, so I'm begging y'all, keep it here, and try not to put spoilers in teh first few lines, as that displays on the forum screen!

I am a bit disappointed in the coverage now that NBC Sports has it.  I miss previous years when you could turn on VS at any time of the day and get Tour coverage.  Booo....  sad.gif

I've been using the DVR and watching it later, but I've had to set the DVR to record after the scheduled time as they go over.  That being said, I have a slingbox if someone is desperate to watch, but  it can be a pain.  BUT, they aren't replaying it 3x per day like they used to.

Overall I too am disappointed with the coverage this year.  One funny thing I did note is that they are not using metric measurements as much as they did in past years.  Not sure why I noticed that or brought it up but whatever..  icon_scratch.gif

It's not the coverage/commentators that I disappointed in.  It's the availabilty of the coverage.  When the Tour was on VS. you could literally turn it on at any point during the day and watch a reply of that day's race.  Now, you either catch it live in the morning or wait until 8pm.  It may just be more of an issue for me and my schedule.  I open the gym at 5am and go to bed early to make sure I am actually at the gym by 5am.  No DVR for this girl.  So, I am catching a lot less of the Tour this year.

SPOILER ALERT - do not read if you haven't seen today's race.

I got off work early today and caugh the last hour of today's stage.  I.E. the crash at the end - is leaning a legal maneuver or did Farrar pull a no-no?  Also, the commentators were so amazed that Greipel was able to stay on his bike during the crash.  Am I the only one who noticed that he seemed to be able to do so by planting his left foot firmly on Farrar's back?  Might have just been a knee-jerk reaction on his part, but OUCH!

Like Topo it is the availability of the coverage that is an issue for me.  Plus they used to show the beginning of the day's stage when you watched or DVRd the early a.m. coverage.  Now, they always pick it up at the middle of the stage and never seem to talk about or show any footage of the early part of the stage.  I do however love Phil Ligget and Paul Sherwen so they do take the edge off my other disappointments.  I also like Bob Roll but that new US guy, Scott something that starts with an 'M', is just too uptight for me.

Watching those 2 new guys with Bob Roll is like watching paint dry.  Makes me miss Craig Hummer.rolleyes.gif

It was on at 8am and 11am this morning.

Does the breakaway ever actually win a stage? They seem to ALWAYS get caught.
