We could race as team LIT again.
I'd be up for Team LIT at Gulf Coast!!!!
good to hear from you Nova!
I haven't raced much this summer, well not much after IMTX. it was weird having an ironman so early (May) then feeling completely out of shape by July!!!
I miss Ironman training!! I want to do my 5th one sooooooon!!!!! would love to do IMFL and join Kyle. I will most likely be at GC this May.
Kona was super exciting yesterday! so inspiring! the bar is getting set higher and higher each year! 8:03 for the Mens! WOW!!!!! & Chrissie is my HERO!!!!
I'd just like to say that the conversation in the Cohen household the last five minutes has been entirely around our recollection of the accuracy of Nova's AGE.
I'm excited for you, CN. :)
It take DAYS no for people to friggin read stuff. It's supa-slow.
that was my thought.
Wow, that is major surgery! The one or two I've seen (albeit from afar) make the shift, seem absolutely joyful in their new lives.
And, if I am reading that right, you'll be taking the Transformation Trophy from Ronbo & Joe!
Like Barb, those who I know in real life were over the moon though a bit verklempt about the corresponding drop in their race times. Congrats CN!
Race times. The lack of "T" has me barely able to move. Hopefully the other hormones will equal out and I'll get some energy. Eeek.
The whole concept has a lot of issues. Fairness being one of them. I have resigned to removing myself from any placings or rankings. In ten years, maybe, but if I were to race today, it wold be totally unfair. Even tho I am legally female and would race with that sex.
I'll be glad when I can slip on a bathing suit and swim. As it stands, right now, the pool is not an option. :(
Well, behind the newness thing, "nova" does have that Spanish connotation of "it doesn't go" :)
Congratulations on the new, brave you.
Without thinking too deeply about political correctness, let me get this off my chest...
Sheldon... Dawg... AWESOME to hear from you. I totally missed you. Heck, we all totally missed you. Glad you checked in!
Second, do I have it right that I should be calling you something different, such as, well, umm... Dudette? Does that come with a name change, such as Nova? Or have I totally read this all the wrong way?
Either way, if this news is what it sounds like, good for you. I for one certainly hope that this brings you the inner peace you, as a good, caring person, deserves.
Still confused on my end but hey, if it's good for you, and if you're excited to share it here, it MUST be GREAT news! Kudos.
Well this thread went a completely different direction than I was expecting (was thinking another shoulder surgery), but like Thor, if I am reading this correctly then all I can say is Wow! Congrats on making what had to be a very difficult decision, and I hope it brings you a heaping helping of inner peace.

Dazed and confused but... Uh... Most of my recent workouts have been on the couch. I did get about 225 miles today - but I cheated and had 96 cubic inches of aid and a BBQ lunch! Go Nova!

Because too much fun is never enough.
I know what you mean! Life got in the way for me, too...
Moving to San Francisco in a week...
Just got engaged on Friday...
So much has changed. I miss the forum though. I'm hoping to train for Escape from Alcatraz this year or next.
Apparently I missed it early on too!
But so very happy that YOU are happy!!! I can only imagine the journey you've been on. Wishing you all the best!!!!
