Since Neil popped back up, I guess I can too.

I am sitting on the couch in my living room being optmistic. I had my knee scoped this morning. Towards the end of my IM training last summer my right knee really started giving me issues. It is the same one I the ACL done in 2003. After about six months of trying to fix it with therapy, my doctor told me there was nothing else he could do except send me to a surgeon. After consulting with him I tried a few more exercise things, but noting helped. So he went in today and did some looking and fixing.

I didn't talk to him afterwards, but he spoke with my wife. I guess the inside looked like a snow globe--a lot of crap floating around. He also found some sort of bone spur or something. And unfortunately, he found some cartlidge issues. Seems like there is some missing or something. I will find out more when I go in for a follow-up.

The surgery was really nothing. I could walk immediately after, and I think it actually feels betters inside. I will have to wait until all the drugs are out of my system.

So that is why i haven't been talking much on the board. I have been sulking around unable to do much. Actually, the last time I was on a bike was in October or so. I haven't run more than 10 minutes since Nov., and I hate swimming so I haven't been in the pool either. Though I have told myself many times that now is the time to improve my swim. But did I mention I hate swimming?

Rest assured I have been lurking quite a bit and catching the headlines. Great to see new people constantly popping up.

As I was reading the thread about cyclists and no helmets, etc. I had a blast from the past. I suddenly remembered our good friend Crazy1.

Nice to see you back Jim! Sorry to hear about the injury and I don't blame you. Seems like a pretty good reason for the sulks but don't be so much of a stranger.

Wilkommen! Yep, time to hit the pool and the weights. Of course, I need to do the same regardless of knee condition but I don't either! Oh boy, Crazy1, what a piece of work that guy was.

Good to hear from you Jim! Sorry to hear about your knee. Hope it gets better soon and allows you to go back what you enjoy. Speaking of swimming.... you are in Rochester Hills area, aren't you? Some F.A.S.T. members swim at Oakland Univ. or somewhere around there. So join us - a group swim workout is much funner than doing it alone!!

Good to hear from you Jim - I think my suggestion (get in the pool) echoes everyone else's. I hope your healing up is both complete and quick as possible

Great to see you again Jim. Sounds like the knee surgery went really well. I am sure that you'll be up and running in no time at all.
