Okay you guys, I'm here in FL w/ my laptop so I'm hoping to supply y'all w/ more up to speed info than you're used to getting from the ironman website. So keep an eye on this thread. I left Kyle about an hour ago and he is looking good and feeling good. I'm hoping he gets a good nights sleep. Talk to y'all in the morning.....

TriAndStopMe 11-01-2008 12:40 AM

Awesome! Can you toss us some bib #'s?

QuickSilver 11-01-2008 02:24 AM

I can feel the excitement in the air. I'm just green with envy here.

QuickSilver 11-01-2008 07:10 AM

It's 3AM Pacific and I'm still awake. All athletes should be checked in now and waiting by the waters' edge. The race starts in 50 minutes! Butterflies...

juliemc 11-01-2008 07:28 AM

Here's the bibs: Kyle 999, Maggie 2421 and Kate 2504.

juliemc 11-01-2008 07:53 AM

Weather report: now 50 degrees, highs of 75, winds 5 to 10 mph. Looks like perfect weather!!!

Tithers 11-01-2008 08:12 AM

Julie-do you have possession of Kyle's phone? If I call it will I get live updates from you?

Give Emily and Dawn a hug from me!

That looks like the PERFECT weather I had last year!

Snooze 11-01-2008 09:40 AM

And look for Stitcher and me catching at the finish line! I'll be the guy wearing a blue Gators hat and Stitcher, well, you all know Stitcher. We're catching from 6-9 (Central).

4boysmom 11-01-2008 10:09 AM

could you also help track a friend of mine? Chip (Albert) is 1967.

juliemc 11-01-2008 10:18 AM

Kyle was done w/ 1st swim loop in about 45min looking relaxed and strong!! I'll try my best to track the others.

toe jam on crusty feet 11-01-2008 10:38 AM

Stitcher says she put the chalk messages on the ground! She didn't see anyone she knew at body marking but we will keep an eyeout. Kyle will finish when we are catching so we will keep looking!!

Thor 11-01-2008 10:39 AM

Go-go Kyle, Maggie, and Kate!

niemsco 11-01-2008 10:42 AM

Go guys! I see they are all out of the water! Go Go!

Thor 11-01-2008 10:43 AM

Thor 11-01-2008 10:45 AM

And Kate's out of the water at 1:26:57!

No T1 times for any of them yet.

Boyerdavea 11-01-2008 10:56 AM

How awesome it this? Good luck Maggie, Kate and Kyle. Ride like the wind.

vtgirl 11-01-2008 11:22 AM

I can't see a live feed option on ironmanlive. Is there live video?

Go LIT kids!

juliemc 11-01-2008 11:25 AM

Kyle's times so far are just as he hoped for. He's still looking good as he took off on his bike.

Toe Jam-thanks for the sidewalk chalk! Dawn and I saw it when we were coming back to the hotel.

vtgirl 11-01-2008 11:36 AM

I hope that last swimmer they mentioned made it out in time!

Tithers 11-01-2008 11:42 AM

I was told by a wetsuit stripper friend that he missed the cutoff

ericd256 11-01-2008 11:50 AM

TriAndStopMe 11-01-2008 01:41 PM

Weird, I don't see the Audio/Video option at the top of the Live Tracking page. Anyone got the live feed up? Surely there must be one for IMFL?

Great job on the swim everyone! Go, go, go!

He's a fast friend! Out of the water in 1:11:18.

Do-it-yourself tracking on everyone is available here... but the live-from-race-site updates are priceless.

MBannon 11-01-2008 02:13 PM

Have a great, great day racers!

vtgirl 11-01-2008 02:17 PM

The feed is finally up. Now my day is screwed, but at least I'll get my office cleaned up today.

pcsronbo 11-01-2008 02:30 PM

RunLin is 2556
1:24 swim which seems right on track. 8 min t1. She's going to rock the bike like she never has before, I have no doubts. She's SOO much stronger than prior years.

TriAndStopMe 11-01-2008 03:14 PM

RunLin?!?!? Cool! It'll be great tracking her. Go, RunLin, Go!

ericd256 11-01-2008 03:15 PM

sweet now i have something to do at work!!

juliemc 11-01-2008 03:16 PM

Me and two of my friends just finished a 14 mile run on the run course. The pros were just coming out on the run and they looked awesome!!! The weather is sunny and cool and perfect!!! I should be seeing Kyle again in about an hour. Will let you know.....

Tithers 11-01-2008 03:32 PM

Kyle hit the 1st bike split at the 73 mile turn-around averaging over 19!

QuickSilver 11-01-2008 04:01 PM

Kate just went through the 73 mile split too (14.66 avg). Kyle is fast.

Seems like Tom Evans is pulling away. Sinballe is solidly in second. Bella Comerford and Jessica Jacobs are duking it out. But Rachel Joyce and Bree Wee are within a strong sprint away.

Real-time tracking is great!

QuickSilver 11-01-2008 04:11 PM

The men's pro race will be over soon. In less than a half hour? The women's in 1 plus, estimating from the tracker updates. Bella Comerford needs to fly so she can drop Jessica Jacobs before the HM distance. Come on, Bree. You can move up too!

RunningForT3 11-01-2008 04:56 PM

Wow, Kyle speed on the last segment was a blistering 21mph!!! Averaged just under 20 for the bike.

juliemc 11-01-2008 04:58 PM

1st guy just finished at about 8 hrs. Kyle started his run at about 2:30pm which is ahead of his projected time. He said he had an awesome bike split. He was smiling and looked AWESOME!!!

4boysmom 11-01-2008 05:06 PM

Just got home and checked again--Chip is through the first bike segment, 16.1 average.

Thor 11-01-2008 05:15 PM

Awesome job on the bike, Kyle!

RunLin? Wow. Go girl, go!

Florida is a very fast bike course. Even the run, but the bike is crazy fast. Like Tom Evans averaged 25.95 mph for 112. And he averaged 27.1 on the second leg. Crazy fast.

QuickSilver 11-01-2008 05:21 PM

Awesome bike, Kyle!
