From the Drs appointment I had last week and got credit for:
Total 175
LDL 105
HDL 38
Ratio 4.6

A big improvement from 3 months ago.

I had my cholesterol checked this summer. Does that count at all?

My numbers:
HDL: 71
LDL: 137

Ask your doctor if getting off your ass is right for you.

this is a tough one to do because it's not like you can just walk into a dr. office or lab and get your chol checked today. I have my dr visit in January and will have my chol checked then, since it's been over 2 yrs since I've had it done (and my insurance only covers that test once every two years).

I had my doctor's visit last week, and they tell me they won't have the results of the cholesterol test for two more weeks.

All I know is that mine is high but not medication-needing high. I had the test a couple of months ago and like others, insurance won't cover it again for a while. Every year I get the same message from my dr -- cut down on the fatty food and we'll check it again next year. Sigh. Doesn't she know that the higher the fat, equals the better the taste? The "good" cholesterol has increased at least.

I don't know my results yet, but i do know it is elevated....

2011 - This  year is about the journey to December 31, 2011, not how soon the number on the scale satisfies me.

I couldn't quite pull this one off, although admittedly I didn't try too hard.

I had a full physical when I turned 40 last June, and I don't remember what my cholesterol numbers were, but I do remember that the doctor's office actually drew a smiley-face beside the numbers, so they must've been good!

I didn't do this one. Last time it was checked it was 154, but that was a few years ago. I know it is still low though since my diet hasn't changed and I work out more than I did then.

Well, I'm happy to say it took a lot less than two weeks to get the results of my cholesterol check.

Cholesterol: 146
Triglycerides: 77
LDL Cholesterol calculated: 90
HDL Cholesterol: 41

I'd like to get my HDL numbers up: I'm right on the bottom borderline. Other than that, it looks good.

CHOLESTEROL 170
HDL 66

Looks like my total cholesterol is higher than some here, but my doctor said my ratio is awesome.
