My DH just bought me a jumprope, so I'm gonna be bouncing around tonight after spinning.

Ooh, jumprope. I like that idea. Otherwise I think I am going to go to the Zumba class they have at the Y tomorrow.

Ask your doctor if getting off your ass is right for you.

Great timing! I'm planning on going to a "bodyflow" class at the gym after my run tonight. It's a combination of yoga/pilates and a little tai chi also. A friend teaches it but I haven't checked it out yet.

I went snowshoeing today! It was a blast but oh so hard. I got a running pair for Christmas, so I assume once I use those it will be a bit easier, but either way I'm in for an awesome workout. Only 20 days until I get my hands on them!

I don't know if this counts or not. I have always run for time. 1 minute of walking to 3 minutes of running or 10 minutes of running or 30 minutes of running or whatever. I'm just starting back and found my track running last week extremely frustrating because of the directional rules of our indoor track.

Today I basically ran a lap and walked a lap for 3 miles. I know that I did way more running than usual. I think I might just try this from now on because I have to change direction whether I'm jogging or walking and it wasy way easier to figure out when I had done 3 miles.

So does a new type of runnign workout count? It's not yoga or anything but it isn't my norm.

2011 - This  year is about the journey to December 31, 2011, not how soon the number on the scale satisfies me.

Alex, the snowshoeing sounds great! They have running snowshoes? Cool! That's almost enough to make me miss snow.

As for me, I decided that today must be the day to pull out that jump rope I bought and have never used.

Now I know why I've never used it. I stink at jumping rope. I used to be able to do it when I was a kid -- really, I could. Boy, was that ever a long time ago.

It got my heart rate up into a training zone right nicely, though I'm not sure if it was the jumping or the frustration causing that.

On a serious note, it was really hard on my shins. I'm going to have to find somewhere with a nice padded mat if I try this again.
