This is one of my favorite activities!! Our "giving tree" at my church collects gifts for the retired nuns at the Villa and I look forward to participating every year. Usually they ask for simple things like towels, stamps or writing paper, shower gels, and I always enjoy putting extra things in (including candy or homemade cookies!!) to make the gifts nicer!!!

It really makes me feel good to share with someone who's not part of my immediate family.

Our department adopted a needy family this year, so I headed out to Lowe's and picked up an oil-filled electric heater that the teenaged daughter of the family wanted.

I can only imagine how cold she must be to request an electric heater for her Christmas present. I hope she likes it.
