I did this technique where you lay down and slowly tighten every part of your body and then release. It felt good.

I also started a journal which I think is good stress relief.

I did some deep breathing meditative exercises to try and help my shut my mind off because I couldn't get to sleep. It works if you stick with it.

I tried a guided visualization meditation. You visualize yourself walking down a wooded path to sun-dapple stream, and rest beside the stream, observing the rocks and the water. It was pretty cool, and much easier for me than the traditional meditation of counting your breath and trying to clear your mind.

I ripped the CD to my ipod, and tried to meditate at work, but I'm sharing a room with several other assistant editors, and that was just a no-go. I meditated at home Friday night before I went to bed, and it did help me sleep.

I'd like to find a quiet hidey-hole at work though, because I think this could be very helpful when everything goes to ****, as it always does.

I started trying some Bikram yoga (hot yoga) but without the superheated room. Looks like it will be good and I've heard great results form a super competitive runner about it.
