4 mile turkey trot race this morning. Goal was to not hurt myself. Groin a bit tender again. Large turnout and I started mid pack. Splits were 7:45, 25, 30, 11. Felt like about 85% effort. 2 x 2 mile loop course and ran negative splits. Missed 1 st age group by 6 seconds. He started near the front and I really gained 2nd loop. Encouraged for next years racing.
I stopped in Chicago Heights today and ran 6.07 miles on a paved bike trail. 3.4 miles was a loop around a lake. Watching Footlocker Midwest tomorrow. Race isn't fan friendly. I'll see the start, finish, and somewhere in the middle.
Ran 7 miles on trails at a park across the street from Footlocker. The local runner I went to watch finished 14th. 10 seconds away from qualifying for the national meet. Ran a good time of 15:23.
Sunday I ran 9 miles on a rail trail from Denver, Indiana towards Peru, Indiana.
Yesterday I was on the treadmill for a hill workout. Mile warm up. 90 seconds at 6% incline with 90 seconds recovery at .5% incline. Did 24 reps for a total of 10 miles in 84 minutes and over 1,500 ft elevation gain.
