Morning all. 6 mile progression run this morning in 64 degrees. Start at 9:15 first mile and just under 8 last mile. Felt faster than watch indicated. No matter; felt good about it.

Hi All!

I have run once so far in November and it was a 5k race on saturday. talk about cherry picking - a time of 29:20 earned me 2nd AG. lol.
David ran it also because he still has to run in 2 more club races to be eligible for Runner of the Year. His time was 23:20 but because this race attracts alot of highschoolers and they are just coming off XC season, David's time was slow in his AG and was 8th AG. He hasn't run at all since about August, so I asked him if he enjoyed being back out running in a race. He said the 1st mile was fun. lol. yeah, i'm thinking he's not going to be returning to running anytime soon. He has one more race now to do for Runner of the Year and they do a Longest Night Mile on 12/20. 4 laps on a track.

~Tammy~

Hardware is hardware, Tammy. Nice going!

Happy birthday, KS!

Today's run started slow, but ended up scoring the most sproink I've had since Chicago. One day at a time!

Nice runs everybody. Maybe David will get interested again at some point. I ran a couple races off of no training and it is really hard.

I did my last workout before the marathon last night. Two mile warmup. 7.81 miles in 60:00 alternating 3% to 6% hills with level running all done around marathon pace effort. Gained 955 ft elevation.

This evening I did 2 miles to start my taper.

Get 'em RIP.

My running friend has a son graduating h.s. this year. He is turning out to be a tremendous swimmer. He has a meet this month in Minneapolis. It's his last chance to qualify for Olympic trials in Omaha, Nebraska. He is only tenths of a second of meeting the qualifying standard. Still it's a long shot but it's a thrill to see him get so close. His dad was going to send him on a trip across Europe for his senior graduation gift. He declined and said if I can't compete in trials I want to go to Omaha to watch. He signed yesterday with university of Texas which is a premier swimming program.

I dreamed of the Olympics as many high school athletes did but most of us never realize that dream.

5.25 hot and sweaty miles this morning. Thursday's high is lower than this morning's low! Racing a 1/2 SAturday morning. No taper for this; just using it for a hard training run.

Good luck on the half KS. Maybe the weather will stay cool for you through the weekend.
Always fun to watch the young kids do well at their chosen sport.

Another easy 2 miles this evening.

I did my 2.2 mile "day before a race" route since I am leaving tomorrow morning. Felt rested and ready to go as I ran my fastest time of 15:58. (7:15 pace) Last mile around marathon pace. Most times I run it I want it to be easy so I don't even time it.

I have an 8 hour drive tomorrow so I'll stop in the middle somewhere to get a run in.

6 more this morning. Start from same place but entirely new route. Thankful for that. First mile slow. Middle three steady. Last two quicker. Temps down too 70 and stiff N wind. Tomorrow morning and race morning around 60. Still too hot to race but will feel good compared to last few weeks. Avg 8:30 this morn

Drat, I missed wishing Rip good luck. Hope his marathon goes well.

I've managed a couple of half decent treadmill runs this week, 4 and 3 miles respectively, as the weather's been nasty.... cold and wet.

Hi Heme and KS

Stopped on the way to Richmond and ran 3 miles on a bike trail in Beckley, WV

Sightseeing, picking up my bib at the expo, and taking a bus tour of the course on schedule for tomorrow.

Good luck Rip.
61 degrees. Yahoo! Strong strong N winds. Boo. 6 miles.

Same weather and wind for race tomorrow on an out and back North and South course. Could be brutal.

KS..... north winds aren't so bad if the return leg is southbound.
Have a great race tomorrow.

Go Rip!

Gym stuff this morning. Got a bit of a sore spot on my lower/outer quad, just above the knee that hurts when I do stairs (both directions). Hope this isn't the start of something......
