Actually, the no cussing thing might be even funnier, cause then it's left up to our imagination as to which ones are being used.

Rawr duckie! You da man! (hope a pay raise went with that title change, too!)

Kath - /snicker.. you're right. I find the censorship a bit annoying (but hey.. free forum... can't complain), but the *** marks will be a bit amusing. As will our attempts to get around the filter program.

G'morning, folks.

Well, the knees are holding up okay so far, after Monday's run/walk gig. Yesterday I went to Spinning and did the usual Body Pump class. The knees were fine in spinning. In BP, it's weird... for lunges, squats, and rows where we're bending the knees a tiny bit, the knees do feel a bit weird. Tightness in places i was used to feels less than it did before. Yet, there is tightness in places there wasn't before. I figure that's not to be unexpected though.

Plans tonight are to walk (just walk) 4-5 on the TM to keep moving, but to scale back.. then I"ll probably take tomorrow off for legwork all together. Friday - who knows.

Hope you guys are having a fantastic morning!

I guess I haven't posted in awhile...glad your ribs are back in place, Kath; congrats, Duck; be patient and brave in your recovery, Ailerie.

I haven't tested the **** censor yet, but I don't really give a **** what it does...

Ok, workouts this week - strength Monday, run and sucktastic open water swim practice yesterday, and a trainer ride this morning. As you probably saw on facebook, I did register for the sprint on Saturday. I clearly need as much swim practice as I can get in the next 24 days. 24 days?!?!? Oh ****! PANIC!!!! Ha ha, creating that date tracker spreadsheet might have been a bad idea!

Don't believe everything you think

Hi guys. Yay for my cousin Duck's new title. And yay for RIL and family on their awesome races.

Not-fun stuff here. I woke up at 2:30 Sunday night/Monday morning with my left leg in immense pain. I had no idea wtf was going on. I took some Advil, but it didn't help. After an hour of fruitlessly trying to get back to sleep, I finally called the 1-800 number for my health insurance company, since they have a RN on duty 24/7, and it's not like I could call my primary doctor at that hour. After describing the problem, she told me to go to the ER. Okay, so off I went...

Thankfully the ER is pretty dead at 3:30 on a Monday morning, so I got seen fairly quickly. After describing my symptoms, the doc immediately decided it was sciatica. And yup, that link explains pretty exactly what was going on. So I got Rxs for muscle relaxers and painkillers. I spent Monday and Tuesday lying down pretty much all day, since it hurt to move. Today I'm in a little better shape. My left leg still hurts, but it's manageable, and I made it to work. Hopefully I'll be back to my old self in a day or two...

So obviously, no running over the last couple days. I'm registered for the 5k at the airport this coming Saturday, but at this point I don't know if I'll make it. If I don't, oh well. This also won't help my marathon training. Just 5.5 weeks until the marathon in Idaho, and losing time now is not a good thing...

I'm pretty sure I know why this happened. I sit at a desk all day working on a computer, and I know I have shitty posture. Plus, I hardly ever do any exercise other than running. So my core is way too weak. I've been telling myself for eons that I should do more core work, but I've always been too lazy to put the time into it. Well, after this episode, I'd **** well better start strengthening my core. Please guys, kick my ass and make me do some strength training!

Bob, I am there with you!!! My chiro thinks all my SI issues are either causing sciatica or causing weakness in the sciatic nerve, which is contributing to the tingling and pain I occasionally experience. The good news is, from what I've heard and read it's not a constant thing - it comes and goes.

Is it time for a core challenge?

Apparently, it's just the base word. I also tested using another F-avorite word, but deleted the post because I was starting to feel vulgar.

I walked O a few this morning. It was marvelously cool. We'll try for a run tomorrow. (Hopefully I'll get enough sleep to get up early.)

Ha. I felt a bit vulgar too with my post yesterday, but it was also funny so WTH, I'll leave it.

I had a pace run on tap this morning. Why or why are these so hard for me? The good news is that I killed it. 1 mile w/u (with DH - yay); 7 miles at GMP (7:35-7:40); 15 minute c/d with 4 strides. 9.3 miles / 7:55 average overall pace. Boom! Granted, I can't imagine running 19 more miles at that pace, but I was happy to get it done without dying or stopping 100 times.

I'm off for a work conference, but it is in a sweet resorty place and DH is coming with me.

Tooodaloooooooo.

Whatcha doin' in Boise Ron?

I ran 1.5 alone, then 2 with O this morning. After work I walked O another 2, and then Bob 1.5. Which gives me... 7 miles for the day? huh.

AND I got 3 mixing bowls trimmed, and sorted through 2 baskets of clothes and have a big bag of stuff to go to Goodwill or somewhere. I was hoping to get a couple more boxes packed too, but by the time I finished sorting clothes it was already 8, and neither the boys or I had had dinner, and I'm trying to get to bed on time tonight. So not as much as I wanted to get done, but still YAY progress.
