Ooh - I like the song list shares.  Keep 'em coming.

Good luck on your training bOb - that is pretty exciting!

I ran 30 minutes on the TM this morning - 3.5.  Didn't have any more time than that.

Man, I feel exactly like that turtle gif.  Found out last night another friend (who is a husband and dad of 2 young girls) died in a car accident yesterday.  WTF.  Too much tragedy in my community this week.  It doesn't help that it is crazy cold (well below zero every morning - today was -5 on my way into work).  Depressing and tragic.  All of it needs to stop.  :(

LOL great gif boB!

did a couple of miles on the TM this morning.  Planned for more but realized as I was starting that the machine needed some maintenance, so I stopped, lubed the deck then walked the 5 min on it to distribute.  By then I only had time for a couple.

Still hoping to get my long run done outside this weekend.

Oh, and just when you think winter can't get any worse - the depth of snow on the ground hasn't been this deep in GR since 1936.  Which will set us up for the potential for significant flooding depending on how fast it melts (and let's just say the 10 day forecast doesn't get anywhere near 32F let alone above it!).  April 2013 we had record floods.  Mother Nature is a fickle woman.

Wow, RIL.  You've gone thru a lot lately.  Yeah, I hope all the bad stuff stops soon...

Mindi - instructions here:  http://www.treadmilldoctor.com/walking-belt-lube-instructions

Sorry about the bad days and local tragedies, Bob and Mindi.

I've been a slacker, running and posting.  We've got a few inches of snow on the ground again and my training has been haphazard.  New shoes should arrive next week though, and hopefully that will give me some confidence as they are a model that I ran for 8 months in with no injuries.  I think I've been avoiding hard training because I don't trust my current gear.

Hey all, back from Vegas. We had a great time, good eats at Burger bar, ra ri, and the Super Bowl party. We saw Raiding the rock vault and One. Both shows were great. And I saw vanilla ice and Ty Pennington at the builders show. I didn't wait in line for either of them, but it was still fun to watch them interact with fans for a bit. We were able to meet up with some high school friends one night too.

The only thing bad about the trip was skipping all my workouts! I just got a brick in, so I'm back on track now.

((Ril))

((30s)). Sometimes I worry when it's quiet in here that someone needs support, but isn't letting us know

Don't believe everything you think

snicker

Today's good things. Because I need the reminder:

1) had a good run before work

2) txt from doc checking in to see how my back is doing. Can't say he isn't dedicated.

2) manager at the bank was very kind and helpful (which caused me to have a slight meltdown; went right after getting out of the meetings and he was being SO nice after all the bashing and i was all kinds of stressed out.)

3) de-stressing & distracting chat with a friend.

4) the Olympics are on

5) I'm being snuggled by 2 concerned beasts

ETA:

This is going on

But Bobalicious left me for his beanbag.

I just got back from a very moving funeral.  Ugh.  Life is so **** unfair sometimes.

welcome back to the cold, amy!

your running continues to be rock solid, ron. keep it up.

continued hugs and thoughts to RIL and family. it sounds like such a difficult week with so much loss. (((((((( ))))))))))

kp, it seems like across the nation records are being set for the winter. apparently we're 24" over NY's normal season snowfall. ick.

katho, i'm really sorry about your cruddy day. i'm sorry people were bashing you because i think you're totally wonderful and amazing :flower: on another note, i can't believe how big oskar looks in that pic. his forearms and paws are absolutely HUGE!!

it sounds like maria is having a blast up in VT!

a BIG congrats to NCRG as well for DD's performance!! amazing!

2.75 miles on the treadmill at the Y today and 27 mins on the elliptical.

DH and i both came down with a 24 hr stomach bug but we're on the mend and determined to make up for the loss of food. heh.

is anyone else watching the olympics?!???

Thanks. And it is. Can't tell you how many times and/or ways the owner insulted my intelligence and skills with making stuff. And the bully compared me to a lap dog. (!!!!!) Ok, yes, we have different styles of dealing with people, but a freaking lap dog?!? What it comes down to is the Bully gets to justify her behavior because that is her personality type and the rest of us just have to deal with it. And I get to make her admin for my software. (She is on my committee, but she didn't have admin privileges before.)

Anyone have a big truck?

Ran a few on the tm this morning. Wish I'd had time for like 10, not that I've worked up to that yet, but could use the stress relief. Anyway, the 3 felt good, and I finished it off with 10 min of walking backwards at 2.0 no handed. (Ok, no, that isn't fast, but it's .5 faster than where I started last week, so improvement.) And the fun thing is when I got to chiro 3 hours later my psoas were still turned on from it.

Thanks Kath and Missy.  The service itself was very traditional and moving (catholic funeral mass; full military honors; bagpipes/amazing grace; then release of balloons as we all stood in the lightly falling snow).  But seeing my beloved GOTR girl and my friend (her mom) painfully say good bye to someone they love so dearly was beyond heart-wrenching.  It just isn't comprehensible or fair.  I so wish they did not have to do any of that.

Kath - we have a big truck.

A lap dog?!?  Sounds like a terrible place to work if your boss is such a bully.  I work in a great working environment, but I have witnessed so many toxic workplaces.  Last Friday I met with an expert witness in Chicago.  I walked into the office and the receptionist was bitter and pissy.  As she walked me to the conference room, I passed an office where a guy was screaming at someone on the  phone, dropping f-bombs and being a total @ss.  Crazy.  And you could tell it was draining and bringing everyone there down.  If I were you, I'd seriously consider looking elsewhere.  You deserve so much better than that Kath.

The bully isn't my boss. We are both project managers, but she is on the review & proofing committee for the pattern line I manage. For whatever reason, she thinks it's her job to critique my performance. She doens't just do it to me, she does it to everyone. No one likes working with her. The problem is that she is married to the owner's wife's brother. So while it's through marriage, she IS related and I'm not, and management won't do anything about her, even though I have told them she creates a hostile environment.

And yes, I am looking for something else. Because I won't be treated like this.

Hugs all around.

And some very nice double digit runs!

Kath, I just saw a job posting that would be perfect for you last week at http://sodeliciousdairyfree.com/contact-us  here: https://home.eease.adp.com/recruit2/?id=7662241&t=1

But you would have to move to Eugene, and you'd probably have to stay with a friend's family until you were back on your feet...

I'm on staycation this week.  Lots of cleanup to do here after an ice storm last weekend.  My chain saw will be getting a workout, but the ground is too soup to be driving my tractor on.
