Good morning/afternoon folks

Havent been on the boards since last week

Not much fun to be reporting these last couple of days. A racing friend of ours lost his life in a racing accident Sunday in Seattle. He was the nicest guy, well known in the drag racing community, always had a smile win or lose, never had a bad word to say about anyone. Its just a tough loss to take.

Somewhat fun: I played two hockey games in the last two nights and we managed a tie in both.

Moonie very cool that you are making plans to head to the Buckeye state. So happy for you both

Thats about all I got, have a great day everybody

Sorry for your loss, Frankie.  That sucks.

I had a busy day yesterday.  The one American who was killed in Uganda Sunday was an alumnus of one of our schools, so I was fielding media calls and requests for interviews much of the day.  He was 25 years old and doing missionary work in Uganda.  Today, I found out that his 22 year-old brother was involved in a plane crash trying to get home to see his family.  WTF????  The brother is alive, but still.  That poor family.

kris and joe, that is WONDERFUL news! i can relate to the are-we'-crazy sort of sentiment. i moved out to chicago at the age of 21 right after college to be with DH and got a lot of raised eyebrows. hey, if you wanna be together and can make it work out - by all means! :) keep us updated on the updates!

kath, i also love clean floors. i like to lie on them :) birds are looking GReAT!

(((alexis))) i feel like you've been having a rough spell. hope you catch a break soon, sweetie!

maria, SO COOL!! where in hawaii? so jealous. we looked for jobs in hawaii but it didn't pan out. plus, most of the jobs for DH would be in oahu and we would live in kauai or maui which would involve a commute to oahu every day via plane or boat. kind of insane. my family went about once a year growing up - kind of our version of the Hamptons :) i would move there in a heartbeat and run around semi-naked with my 8 kids and 14 dogs if i could.

colleen, other pics were from our babymoon. the big field was in old san juan near the castle. i'll post a few of those in a bit :)

kj, its never to late to start smooching DH in front of baby?

bigG, what are you making for your date night? :)

(((lori and frankie))))

just sitting here with a silly grin, thankful for my 30s family. that s'all.

ooooh...so jealous of your babymoon, Missy!

Sorry for your loss, Frankie. :(

Yay! Lori's friends!

I had met my friend Mike for lunch;  we met up behind the student union, at this fountain that I had no idea was there.  Lovely.

Missy - was that fort El Morro or San Cristobal?  I always liked the view of El Morro from San Cristobal - you get the fort, the old cemetaries and the ocean all at the same time.

I love San Juan - I'm going to be there myself in about 5 weeks.

My whole family is very affectionate...  Whether talking to DD, Mom, brothers, uncle, or . . .  Greek goddesses   -- every phone call ends with an "I love you."  We hug.  Alot.

I don't know what else to say, KJ, except that I hope all is well with you, and that baby M starts puckering up for mommy very soon.

A. Moon & Bard (did we ever come up with something for the two of them???) -- you know how thrilled I am for you.  Good luck in the job search!

2.  "GoV status" and "beginning of 2011" don't really go together!     We aren't discussing dates on here, but there's an entire Greek clan (and a few close friends in Jersey) that would probably hunt me down if it was going to take that long...

 d.  I'll keep those of you on the travel route up to speed, so hopefully we can see each other.

Yeah... but you can prevent that by just removing all subtlety!

Frankie --  Of course I heard about the crash and the strange way it happened.  I'm very sorry for your loss.

OK -- lunch break is over.  Back to work.

I have had to use the same sort of touchy-feely desensitization so Gus won't go apeshit when Dh hugs me. We have him down to wedging himself between us or just closely inspecting the situation.

No. But moving across the country is big. You can't just let that slide.

So that's what my parents' problem is?

After I moved out I trained them to hug me when I come visit. Now if I don't walk up and hug them they come after me.

Funny - I was in the "we need more 30s on the west coast" camp for so long, so it was a little weird to have this sudden mind (and location) shift

Thanks for the well wishes, and ditto what she said...though I do wonder about this...what is this thing called winter?

Ditto on the Missy pics - I saw them attached ot that flickr link you posted and wondered if those your PR pics.  And GoV - I almost put a qualifier on my posting saying that I sure HOPE you're not in the same status when I'm about to pull up stakes lol.gif

I trained my mom the same way, with "Love you" and kisses upon departure.
