Maria - You know the park better than any of us so I would go with your gut on the best place to setup. Besides, they're not THAT fast.

Good idea btw, I'll bring up a camp chair too.

I will be taking the train up Friday PM, but will not be staying for Sunday's race. I'd be happy to catch up for lunch after the Trials if that is the plan.

Me too, as long as there is coffee involved, I can be there at 5am if you want, lol.

Lunch sounds good to me. Alexis and I are staying until Sunday after the marathon.

1!!!!

I'm driving in from work on Friday around 1 (will take me about 30 min to get into the city). I'll pack some of those chairs in the truck too.

Stay above 14th St. and you'll be fine. A giant grid. Streets go East-West and Avenues go North-South. As you move West, the Avenues grow higher in number & similarly as you move North, the Streets grow higher in number.

Beaker The park is the large area that isn't completely encased in concrete, massive buildings, and hot dog vendors. There's a few trees, some grass, and bodies of water - and on Sat there will be ~135 very skinny very fast dudes blazing through it.

Hey guys! I'm planning on staying on the Jersey side Saturday nite with my dad and heading into the city Sunday morning. If I could work things out to get up there in time for lunch Saturday, I'll get in touch with someone.

Fort Hose who are cheering on marathon day, what's your plan? I'm likely taking the train in, since driving will probably be all plugged up that day. Figured I'd head to the finish area. I know Lori said she'd be by the TavernOTG. Did LL get reserved seating for some of you? Heather and Alexis? Is that where you'll be?

I'm not when sis will tell me how many reserved seats she's able to get. It may not be until Sat. night when I see her. If that's the case, and there's enough seats for everyone, I'll give the tickets to my wife and give you all her cell phone number. Then you can find her at the finish to get the tickets.

Stay tuned.

Anywhere along Central Park South (a.k.a. 59th Street) is a great spot to view peeps right before they finish. The actual finish line is back inside the park but it's wayyyyy crowded in there and a bit limited in where you can set up shop. CPS however is several long blocks of space to catch your favorite runners whooping up that last mile.

So glad to hear you're coming up as well Lora!!!

Assuming the weather holds as the forecast predicts - I think I'll be wearing a red & black singlet with the Clif Bar Pace Team logo on the front and back, black shorts, and a black Pearl Izumi cap (black gloves if I'm wearing any). I can't promise I'll see or hear any of you - but you can bet I'll be convincing myself to hold the pace because I don't want to let anyone down!

This is the shirt I wore at the Twin Cities 5k:

Nice quad shot in #2 there!

Btw - I think you lost at least 5 seconds in that race to the wind resistance from your shorts. Maybe you should try the Khazakstan National uniform.

Is that a wallet in your pocket or were you just happy to see the finish line?

My marathoning outfit will likely be black shorts, black visor, green sleeveless shirt (same style as this but kelly green)
