Aerial of the area, looking west.

The big lake is Upper Kananaskis Lake.  Our trail started at the end of the road at middle right and followed the edge of the lake across the avalanche / scree slopes and descended into the valley at the top middle left.  From there it settled some way behind the spur of that mountain at middle left, in all about 7.4 - 7.6 km first night.

Setting out from Interlakes day use area.  Yeah, we know, there are Grizzly about.

Upper Kananaskis Lake from the beginning of the scree slope (Palliser Slide) up against Mt. Indefatigable.

Forest at twilight as we hike the 7.5 km in to Forks campground.

Sleepy boy at dusk.

Up the trail to Turbine Canyon on Saturday morning.

And up.  And up.  And up.

Once we were in the Alpine it really opened up.  Here's 220 degrees at Lawson Lake.

And a closeup of the boybarian.  Mt Lawson is at the back, Hague glacier center, the North Kananaskis pass at the left.

On the trail to Turbine.

At Turbine campsite looking west to North Kananaskis Pass.  Lawson Creek.

And the creek enters Turbine Canyon...

Hague Glacier.

In the alpine on the way home.

Boybarian yawp to discourage the bears.

And back to our campground at the base of Mt. Lyautey.

And the way out, just past the bear...
