Hillsborough Street in Raleigh is one of the main streets in town, and it runs right by the north side of the NC State campus. It was closed today so they could have a festival celebrating the completion of over a year of reconstruction and road improvements. I took advantage of the opportunity to practice with my new toy, and here are the results that are fit to share with the public. (I must say the 'crop' tool is my photographic best friend right now, because it's the only thing that salvage most of these pictures.)
I'll be splitting the pictures up into two or three posts, and as usual constructive criticism is welcome.
"I'm With The Band (I)"
Members of the university's marching band were present for the ribbon cutting ceremony. I got two shots of them that were decent.
"Drum roll, please"
Cheerleaders and Dance Team
"They were also present at the ribbon cutting ceremony."
(This one's very heavily cropped, but I like how I've used the guy in the fore-ground to frame the girls.)
(I was trying to get the wolf emblem on the girl in front's cheek, but she turned away too fast.)
(Again, very heavily cropped to isolate the group.)
