The Catamount Trail Association in its celebration of its 25th anniversary and the Trapp Family Nordic Center in celebrating its 40th year anniversary are co-hosting a Ladies Nordic Ski Expo on January 10th at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, VT. As the name implies, this is a ski event for women only and by women only.

The Expo is unique in that it will offer women an opportunity to receive instruction in the traditional skinny-ski track disciplines of both classic and skating as well as backcountry and telemark techniques. Participants will be able to pick and choose which type of types of instruction they want to receive in this day long event.

Expert instructors will be working with participants including some of the world's best master skiers in both telemark and track skiing. In addition, in order to maximize the learning opportunity, we will strive for a 10:1 pupil/teacher ratio.

The schedule for the event (9AM-5PM) includes three on-snow instruction sessions, lunch at the Trapp Family Lodge, an opportunity for video analysis, followed by an outerwear clothing show/sale by Isis, and a social with wine, cheese, and chocolate.

The Trapp Family Lodge will be a great setting for this event because they can guarantee snow with their new snow-making capabilities and they also have terrain for back-country and telemark skiing. The Catamount Trail also incorporates a portion of the Trapp Family trails in it's 300-mile passage through Vermont.

The cost for the entire day of instruction, lunch, video, and trail pass is only $50.00. Rentals are available at the Trapp Family Nordic Center for an extra charge (please call ahead). This event will benefit the Catamount Trail Association and is sponsored by the Trapp Family Lodge, Isis, Redwood Creek Winery, Champlain Chocolates, and Cabot Cheese.

Registration will be limited to 100 and is available through the CTA web site (www.catamounttrail.org). For more information call: JoAnn Hanowski at 802-899-4552 or email: [email protected] for questions.
