(this is my dad's tried and true recipe)
2 cups loosely packed basil leaves
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1/4 cup romano cheese
1/2 stick butter
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup pine nuts (about 3 or 4 ozs)
Throw all of the ingredients together in a food processor or blender and pulse until well combined, to desired consistency.
