woohoo

can't wait to hear all about their adventures!

the PRT is not somewhere to drop my morals and ethics and roll in the mud and muck and pretend those I am talking to aren't really people at all and it's alright to treat them like dirt.

If anybody else finds or has footage from the race, please post it. Some people don't tag this stuff correctly on youtube, so its hard or impossible to find.

Here's a couple clips from early in the race:

Mile 3

Mile 5

It appears there's a few more clips in the sidebars of those pages

You guys cannot image Kate's finish. It was truly awesome and made the tears roll. But I will save that and let Kate and Muddy tell you about it! They were one awesome duo. And Kate had amazing grit and determination!

Aw shucks.

It was really a great finish I have to admit. I had a great race marred only by way too much time in the chair trying to repair my feet from all the damp conditions. Lots of blister on blisters. Eventually the only thing to do was suck it up and run with them the way they were because nothing was going to help.

We passed a lot of people from No Hands to Robie Point - got behind a train of them up the last part of the trail and then sneeked around them right as we got onto the road. I ran a lot on the road and right before entering the track Muddy tells me I probably can break 29 hours. Not realizing his watch wasn't synced to the official clock I entered the track running pretty fast and when I was at the back corner I hear the announcer say "28 hours 59 minutes..." and I thought "oh crap - no time to waste!" So I SPRINTED as hard as I could around the corner and could see the clock counting down 30, 29, 28....I barely made it in 28:59:56. Whoo Hoo. Funny, my legs and feet didn't hurt at all. Maybe I should have started sprinting sooner!

It was a lot of fun and I can't thank Muddy enough for all his help. I'm sure things would have turned out much less happy if he wasn't there waiting on me hand and foot and giving me great pep talks and keeping track of the time and trying to get me to eat. If you can ever talk him into being your pacer you won't be sorry (Muddy, this could be a second career for you).

It was an absolutely amazing race!!!

From all aspects...as a crew member, pacer, & spectator.

I was at Forrest Hill when Krupicka & Killian came through 30 minutes ahead of record pace. It was nothing less than stunning to watch.

I'll leave the rest to KateMD since it was her race. All I will say at this point is that KateMD is as tough as nails & a pleasure to run with.

Her family & friends were awesome & I was treated like a rock star. We had a great time together.

Speaking of Kicksters...thanks so much to my good friend katie....we never get to see each other often enough, but she was so kind as to drive out to Reno to pick me up from the airport & we managed to get some good conversation during the drive back & at various aid stations throughout the weekend.

HUGE congratulations to my friend, KateMD, who is one tough chick. It was such an honor to be part of her crew. This was an experience I will never forget.

It was great to meet Muddy, and he was the perfect pacer for Kate. Funny, we had no idea who the other was until a friend (Rustyboy) was relating how he had met Kate and me. He used our posting names, and when he said mine, Glenn turns to me and says, "You're Fatozzig??" and then told me he was Mudrunner. Surprised the **** out of both of us.

Again, congratulations, Kate. You are my Trail Goddess.

Impressive photos! If long hair really provided better times, I'd grow mine out! What's left of it anyway. On second that, that'd probably just scare people. I can grow a pretty good beard though. Anton doesn't look nearly as tired as I did at the end of my 20 mile run that day.

Think of all the food you could stash in your beard! Sneaky. And maybe a little gross.

Congrats to John, Sherpa Johna and KateMD. Good Race all! I'm too much a heat wuss to ever consider it.
