Buzzy, are you still in???

I'm in for the the 50 miler ... it'll be my second 50 ... not expecting much but hoping I can finish and keep my hip and hammy issues at bay ... have decided to look at this more as a training run for my first 100k in October than the goal race I'd originally hope it'd be *sigh*

I am volunteering to help mark trails on Thurs and Fri again this year ... hope I don't burn too much of my race doing so

Yay Kim!

Heard it was a hot one. Early results of the 100 mile (second-hand reporting):

Zach Ireland 19:08
Dan Rose: 19:41-ish
Shaun Pope 21:16
Sandy ? (1st woman) 21:20

those stats sound right to me! so glad shaun not only finished but finished well ... some nay-sayers who shall remain nameless were predicting he'd go out too hard and blow up but I had faith ... what a nice young man

I haven't looked up what official temps were yesterday but some this morning were saying it reached 92F yesterday

Sandy Nypaver out of Parma Heights.Has a twin sister Rachel who also runs. I last saw Sandy at mile 30. Her form was excellent and running strong (she was around 10th overall here).
Irelan and Dan Rose were phenomenal, just a run in the park for them.
This was Shaun Pope's first 100 miler, and I think the whole ultra NEO community should be proud of him. I was hanging out with father, and met his mom along the way, and made sure that we knew Shaun as such nice young man! Shaun gave me a hug when he came through around mile 30.

Have to say, I was thrilled for her (although not entirely surprised) - this chick is built, talented, and fierce.

Thanks for spending time with me - introducing me to the who's-who of Ohio ultra running.

It's amazing to me the YOUNG talent up in NEO ... that little girl that won the Winter Run for Regis ... Shaun, Sandi and surely others ... ultras are no longer owned by the 30 and 40 somethings, it seems!

btw - Jay Smithberger (sp?) won the mens 50 miler in 7:55 that's amazing to me ...
