Team name? How about The Undeterred? (it's a homonym)

There are a lot of unfamiliar names on this team. So how about we introduce ourselves with a little backround info? I'll go first...

Doctor Wu, not my real name. (It's the title of an old Steely Dan song.) Age 53, been running since age 42. Total marathons run = 33, with 11 of them in 2008! Did 6 marathons in 10 weeks last fall and still feel burned out and trying to get my running mojo back. I bombed out of VRAA #14 because of job stress, took a pass on VRAA 15, but I'm ready to up my mileage for an October marathon.

Dougie Fresh in the house. I hang in the Multisport forum. I've been running and doing triathlons for 4 years now. I have a tri on July 11 and Aug 22 so plenty of training going on right now.

Since we are team 3 how about something like "Team Triple Threat".

Hello, Team 3 aka The Undeterred aka Team Triple Threat!

I'm mostly from the masters forum. I am 41 years old, running since 1990, but never raced much until 3-4 years ago. I don't anticipate doing any racing during this round, but I will get that consistency bonus! I am aiming for 40 mpw plus some XT.

Looking forward to it!

Hello Team,

RalfM checking in. I have been running seriously for a couple of years. I had however for about two years trouble with shin-splints and this is my first season after that and I am still working hard to get n shape again. In order to avoid further injury trouble, I usually do not run more than three days per week. I probably won't run any races during the month to come (today I ran a 5k) but I m preparing for a half in September and expect to follow my training plan consistently.

Suggestions for the first 4000: Running
Name suggestion: In thirty days around the world.

Looking forward to run with you.

Ah, and yes, most of the time I am in the Canadian/Montreal thread.

Morning! Good idea on the introductions, Dr. Wu. Were you at Philly 07? I'm thinking I've met you, and that's the only time I can figure it may have happened!

Let's see, I'm 33, married with 2 kids. Juggling parenthood, my work, my husband's new business, and general life chaos along with trying to work out and get in shape (who isn't, right?) I started running in fall of 2006, and thanks to the 30s crew I'm hooked! I've done a handful of shorter distance races, 1 HM, a few relays and had a baby since then. I'll try to do a few local 5Ks during this Round. I'm still not very high mileage, but I try to do a decent amount of cross training to make up for it.

FYI - I will be around today, but then out of town until Sunday night. I'll catch up with all the happenings here on Monday morning.

Consistency bonus: If you want me to, I will email you reminders to post points. If you want the reminders, send me a PM with your email address.

Let's go team 3!

Hello again,

I'm 47 and I tend to hang out only in this VRAA thread. Sometimes I'll wander over and check out the race and/or the finish line..... I've run about 8 marathons so far. 2 this year and am planning to race the CIM in December. I teach and am on summer break so I am doing regular running with lots of cross training.

Ok, I thought so. I'm not even sure we were introduced. I was pregnant and didn't run, so I was hanging out in the bleachers at the finish line cheering for everyone!

Hi! My name's Pete!

Getting ready for the Akron half marathon and I'm expecting the next 12 weeks to have my highest average (and highest peak) mileage ever.

Don't really care what we call ourselves for a team by any other name would kick as much ass.

I'm another multisporter. I'm starting my training for a 50k paddling race this week. Recovering from an injury sustained running my first half marathon last Sunday and have a weekend full of boring meetings, so might be off to a slow start this round. Hopefully can catch up during the week and build up once my leg is better.

Hi guys!! I'm another teacher here on summer break, on my way to Nashville to hang out with some friends for a while. They're crazy runners so I will be running regularly when I get down there. I'm hoping to find a good yoga and zumba place as well! I wish we started yesterday for points because we hiked a few great trails in Shenendoah National Park! I'll be in the car all day today but I'll check in again from TN!!

Team triple threat sounds good to me!!

Just an FYI: starting Saturday I will be offline until Thursday. I am going away on vacation to "the lake" where there is no 'net access. Plans are rest day Saturday, workouts Sun/Mon/Tue/Wed then taper Thu/Fri then triathlon on Sat. After that it's back to training hard for the next one in Aug.

Today I did a practice tri. Points are entered in the database and daily threads.

Have a good week!

Have you PM'ed Jensparks about your vacation? If I understand him correctly, you can still claim the consistency bonus if you tell him in advance that you are gone without internet access.

Have a good vacation.

Morning all! Got in 3 miles running/walking - trying to get my system back on track after days of road food.

Am I reading right that if you post to the main thread every time you have points you can get bonus points for that week? That seems too easy but I'll post there next....
