BBS - rest
akern - shabbyless is good.

Rock'n'Roll half marathon this morning.  Kicked off @ 6:30am.  Overcast, a bit windy and ~65F.  The wind was on/off annoying especially in the last couple of miles as the course went up some off ramps into the wind.  Had to really fight it.  There was a bit of rain late in the race but the nasty dark clouds blew by.  My stomach was not happy early on but by mile 8 I switched gears and dropped the folks around me and started chasing people down.  Finished strong and completely spent.

Anyway, all told I pulled off a PR.  I'd predicted 1:27 when I signed up and have 1:26:52 on my watch, so a minute faster than my last HM.  Maybe a fraction faster with the chip?   In fact I was a bit faster at 10M than my best 10 mile race this year.  The splits are as follows:

Miles 1-5:
06:26, 06:40, 06:41, 06:54 (no idea what happened), 06:21 (last mile probably long)
Miles 6-10:
06:34, 06:47, 06:37, 06:39, 06:39
Last 5k:
06:36, 06:43, 06:30, 00:42

Finally I'm making progress in the HM.  I'll look for a better time next month.

BBS -- Get your butt out there.  Don't listen to RA.

akern -- Great job.

RA -- Awesome, my man!  You now own the record between us.  My PR is 1:27:03.  Curses!

Haven't been posting much these days.  Hate it when I'm not running high mileage.  I did, however, complete my first oly tri yesterday.  Race report will be posted tomorrow.

Flyby. Finally back home after being gone for over a week.  Logged my very first DNS this morning.  Nasty, nasty upset stomach overnight left me totally drained and lightheaded this morning.  Since this was a throw away race and I'm racing a Half Iron next weekend, decided to just bag it.  Bummed about it though.

Well, officially it's 1:26:49 so that's 3 more seconds to your misery. ;)  Congrats on the triathlon.

BBS - hope you got out there and did it

akern - nice 4

RA - wow, taking down 1:27, I'd say your getting this HM thing down.  Congrats!

Chances - nice of you to drop in ;)  Looking forward to hearing about the tri

4boys  - sorry about the dns, but as you say it was a throwaway.   Get yourself rested and psyched for next weekend

Rest day for me after the long run yesterday.

Nice job on all the racing and training and such.  I still have a sore back which is leaving me feeling drained.  I guess I am going to get the chiropractor to help out the sore back tomorrow.

Have a great evening everyone.

Hey guys.  Gotta get back in the posting routine.  Did workouts Saturday and Sunday.  One more week in the books.
