Good morning all.

My angry toe and I did an easy 8 miles on the roads in 55:50.

Toe is starting to feel better -- soaked it for a long time last night and that really helped.

Loopy: sorry about the toe, great job on the race despite!

I had an absolute blast yesterday. I decided to cut my run shorter but make it twice as difficult. I ended up with 6 miles and 4,000 feet of elevation change. Absolutely had a blast. and knock on wood. I feel like I am ready for the 100..... please oh please keep this training going good for the next 5 weeks. before taper starts!

Asics: I can see you down there, so my guess is 8.34 miles ( )

RA/Richard/Jill- enjoy the rest

Dave- Nice rainy ride

Me- Going out for a run of some sort when the "coffles" settle. Kinda rainy here. I'm not sure what kind of run I'm gonna do today- 5 or 6 miles, tempo? Progression? I'll just go w/ the flow..

My normal 5.2x mile loop. I felt okay, it was just typical florida humid so I took my 2 normal walk breaks. I also did 190 push ups.

The only way I could get 4K in elevation change here is to run up and down the stairs of a building!

FB- Nice going with the run and push ups. Don't know how you do it in that humidity.
BBS - Whatever your run is may the coffles be with you.
Richard/Jill/RA - Enjoy the rest. I'm going to join you.
Dave - Hot dang, big fun!
Loopy - Treat that toe nice.

Richard: Do you have a sherpa on these adventures?

I was tempted... but I feel a bit run down with BS allergies that I never had when I was younger... arhhhh. Plus DW said yesterday: "you're NOT running tomorrow, are you?" She thinks I'm over doing it.

Dave - cycling in the rain sounds like fun. Did you have a card in your spokes?
Jill - big day tomorrow?
BBS - coffles? Is that coffee with truffles? Heck, my typing is so bad that I shouldn't throw stones. Have a great workout.
FB - not sure how you do it everyday in that humidity.
Dan - have a good rest.

Chances - Not sure I commented on your HM. What's with the slacker time. Where's that 1:25? Only kidding - great job. I think you may need to back off some.

SON1 IS HOME!!! ANd this photo says it all--he had a blast! He earned the coveted "triple crown"--no flats, no crashes, no wussy wagon. Not bad for 1600miles!

I didn't have time to post yesterday. Started the day with a ride 28.23m, 1:44, 16.3mph. Followed by a run 3.74m, 31:26, 8:24pace. Cool down short 2m walk wiht the hound.

The rest of the day was spent driving over to Bloomington, the welcome home celebration for deCycles, then a long drive back home. My sister drove in from AZ to pick up her son. We talked briefly. I guess she's planning on spending an afternoon with Grandma but no plans to come down to see us. Okay...

No rest for mom. Coach had a 90min run for today. Dragged my carcass out of bed and laced up the shoes. Ug....... Every step was torture. Ended up with a couple walk breaks. Just nothing in the tank. Didn't even make it into the double digits today. Oh well. Quite pleased with the numbers! 9.88m, 1:28, 8:59pace.

coffles- n. English slang. Consuming a combination of coffee and waffles. sent.- Coffles is the breakfast of champions.

Chances knows all about, heck, he invented it.

Eric- nice work on the humid loop

Dan- enjoy the rest

4BM- Glad your son had a great time. Nice job w/ the run

Me- Man its Humid... I ended up doin just a plain ol' easy 5 w/ an 8:27 avg pace. Got some tuff speed werk tomorrow so I decided not to do anything 'fancy' today.

Mom -- That's a great photo!

loopy -- Nice job. Despite the moody digit.

RA -- Rest up, bud.

Richard -- You, too. When's your 100?

Nice job, Dave. I'm gonna get me a good bike, someday.

Jill -- Rest up, girl.

BBS -- Hey! "Coffles!" Have a good run.

FLBoiler -- Yeah, I know the highest point in FL is like 300 feet -- and that's in the panhandle! Nice run.

Dan -- You rest well, too.

Me -- Day 2 of no running. I'm taking a full two weeks off to see how the achilles feel, then I'll re-evaluate. Cross training in the meantime. And no excuses; my injuries had nothing to do with my Saturday half performance. That was all lactate. Learning alot about how my body makes fitness adjustments post-marathon.

And RA, I was so relieved to see a little trash-talking from you -- was afraid I wasn't loved anymore. Whew!

Good morning. Nice running, resting and biking to everyone. I got out for 5.37 in 43:27(8:05). It felt good. I am doing a 1 mile race on Saturday. Not sure what goal time I should have. The start goes up a hill and the rest is mostly downhill with some flat parts. I am shooting for 6 minutes or less. Hopefully I can get that. Have a great morning everyone.

Hi everyone. Ran 10 miles on the treadmill at the Y.

Good morning all,

I didn't post yesterday but it was soccer day. Played 40 minutes in our match vs. a higher ranked team and we - almost - pulled it out, losing 2-1 on a late goal. Ugh.

Later in the evening DW and I headed for a walk to loosen up the legs from soccer, so I guess I had another crosstraining double for the day. Not bad, second one of the week.

Today - rest day though I wouldn't be surprised if we both end up going for an evening walk. 7 on tap tomorrow and another mile time trial/interval workout on Wednesday.

Gotta back to work for now. Nice running everyone and great photo of S1 of 4BM.
1600 miles...****.

4BM - Congrats to Son1

1000 meter swim at lunch with a new PR at 500 meters. And the best thing about it I didn't try to get a PR. My swimming is slowly coming along.

You can see the details of all my workouts on my Blog.  Happy Training Everyone!  Stay safe out there!

Hey all. Doing great, you are.

I made it 4.4 miles in the upper-90s heat. I'm starting to get used to it. (Liking it is another matter.)

Finally back and somewhat functioning from a great weekend in River Falls hanging out with the teammates. Friday, after bombing that tempo I ended up going an hour with my captain, a good portion of them on trails which I greatly enjoyed. He made mention of a hill that will show the true manhood of whoever undertakes it, so I vowed to return before my visit was done. Saturday morning up at 7 to get some sort of run in with the captain, teammate, and incoming freshman before we had to man the 2-mile turnaround for the local road race that our coach did quite well in. 50mins there, fun times were had. Rest of the day involved lots of lawn games, cooking out, swimming, and some other activities. I was the official recorder of the 3rd annual RF Days Beer Mile, winner won in 6:54. Quite impressive and hilarious to watch the others. Also headed to the street dance late that night trying to escort some overly inebriated ladies....more merriment ensued. Finally got to bed after 2hours of dancing a bit after midnight. Up at 7 for my long run which ended up being solo. Headed up to aforementioned trails and took on "The Hill" which is indeed a monstrosity. 6 loops of the trail plus there and back for 98mins. Over the entirety I had 15mins+ of climbing so my legs felt like crap today, not to leave out about 3mins total of downhill free fall - you know, where you are scared that you're just going to eat it because your legs can't go any faster. This morning was a slogfest for sure...probably 8:40 pace or so followed by 10x hill sprints. 60mins total. Another run is going down within the next 10mins it seems with the stud girl from my HS, more to follow.

2 miles in 19:07, 80 degree heat and very high humidity....dang it felt good though. Followed by a 0.25 mile shuffle and a 0.25 mile walk. So far I feel pretty good, hopefully I can say the same at PT tomorrow.
