What are you challenging yourself to do these days?

Me?

I'm challenging myself to actually wait at corners for the green light before crossing.  There's an awful lot of peer pressure to just cross when it's clear.  I use it to practice breathing.

I also ride the escalators instead of stampeding up and down them with the rest of the busy bees in downtown Mpls.

Getting back in shape and losing weight.  So far, I'm failing.  My achilles has become a huge problem, so I'm going to join a health club.  I'm sitting here waiting for a call back from one that's closeby.

My challenges:

* To consistently join my running group for runs

* To call people more often

* To socialize with family members, who are really quite lovely people

* To keep my dog from bringing his chow onto the carpet and messily eating it there

I quit drinking.

Ask your doctor if getting off your ass is right for you.

Excellent!  And, with an action plan, too!  Nice!

I like your challenges, what can you do to help yourself achieve these?  Are there ways we can help support you in these?

Actually, running helps to keep me calm(er) and centered.

Oh, action?

Um, tonight I'm running with my group. I called a cousin today. I'm getting together with more cousins on friday night. I called my dad today. I told my dog "NO!" when he tried dragging his food over to the carpet and he obeyed.

You certainly don't look very calm with that green face of yours!

My challenge is to get back to my pre-Evelyn weight.  I'm 6 lbs away (and Evelyn is 6 months old).  So far, so good!  Hand in hand with this challenge is exercising every day and eating well.

clare, you are doing well with only 6 pounds to go post partum.  Great job!

my personal challenges:

1. be patient with my MIL...omg, omg, omg...

2. get these 6-7 extra pounds of flubber off my bod [yes, 7 pounds is a lot when you're a teeny tiny mum, and are not supposed to weigh what I weigh, and enjoy food WHEY too much]

3. attempt to add mileage to my pitiful weekly wussy totals

On Wisconsin!

Porty, I am with you.  I've gained about six pounds in the last few weeks, and it makes a huge difference on little old me.

Ask your doctor if getting off your ass is right for you.

My personal challenge right now is to lose weight

I am 150.6 as of this morning. I need to be 135 or less. None of my pants fit.

I'm in the lose weight camp.  So far I am sticking to my Game On Diet plan, though I am lacking in the exercise.

Keep better track of my finances and use cash instead of debit.  It's going to be a tight, tight summer.

2011 - This  year is about the journey to December 31, 2011, not how soon the number on the scale satisfies me.

I went temporarily insane this afternoon and signed up for a 50K trail race at the end of October.  That will definitely be a challenge.

I need to get back in shape by mid September so my personal challenge is to work out every day.  That means on a non running day I will do core or strength training.  And stop eating everything within reach.

To get some semblance of 'normality' into my life.

To restart my running and to cut 15 pounds I've gained in the last 15 months

To slow the **** down and try to enjoy every breath I take

Since I retired for the 4th time last month I am challenging myself to accept no challenges for the next while and just take life as it comes to me.

...kinda like the past 60 years :D
