hubby wants music for his race Sunday ... what's your best 5-10 butt-kicking tunes?

the PRT is not somewhere to drop my morals and ethics and roll in the mud and muck and pretend those I am talking to aren't really people at all and it's alright to treat them like dirt.

I agree with Black Eyed Peas. They have some great tunes for running.

I also like Nickelback.

Mud Runner - I totally second Du Hast!!!! Once in a while I start my run with that one, and it just sets an amazing tone (and pace!).

Anything off of the Metallica S & M Album, but most especially "Call of Ktulu" and "Ecstacy of Gold".

Frankenstein by Edgar Winter Group
Run by Collective Soul
Lunatic Fringe by Red Rider
Stranglehold by Ted Nugent

The entire Last of the Mohicans sound track - love this one for trail runs.

OK...there's a psychic moment....I was going to add Stranglehold to that list. I have the Live from Sweden version...perfect.

t'anks!

we have a lot of those in our library ... so easily loadable to his MP3

he can do most edgy pop, older ones, some alt rock and some heavy ... he's not a fan of hardcore german metal stuff or industrial (gutteral and growling with angry lyrics reminds him of things he'd rather not think of, methinks ...he is my under-the-breath tourette's man - always think he might go postal - daughter loves that stuff )

My suggestions for him were:

Fuel or Ain't My Bitch - Metallica
Symphony of Destruction - Megadeth
Got the Life - KORN
Thunderstruck - AC/DC
Out of Line - Buckcherry
Meaning of Life - Disturbed
Whatever - Godsmack
Before I Forget - Slipknot

I'll have to check out a lot of those you all recommend ... I like everything from techno to pretty heavy for running so long as the beat is aggressive ... lyrics can be happy, sad, mean or whatever - the beat is what gets me moving!

the PRT is not somewhere to drop my morals and ethics and roll in the mud and muck and pretend those I am talking to aren't really people at all and it's alright to treat them like dirt.

Caution: If you have the sound track from O' Brother Where Art Thou,
do not load Ralph Stanley's O Death.

This came on my MP3 player at mile 23 during a marathon once.
While fitting, I could not stop laughing

I don't think he should race to any music he has not tried in training first.

I am going to have to look up a bunch of the poppy ones ... exercise is about the only time I listen to that anymore ...

and sometimes I like super heavy stuff and other times it puts me in a bad mood ...

hubby is more old time rock-n-roll but likes some aggressive stuff like some Disturbed and such ...

the PRT is not somewhere to drop my morals and ethics and roll in the mud and muck and pretend those I am talking to aren't really people at all and it's alright to treat them like dirt.
