She does know how to shoot

I am certain that your success as a runner, and in all things is due more to the strength of your fighting spirit than anything else. Seabee

I had an undiagnosed leg length discrepancy (left = almost a full inch longer than my right), and I royally s*cked for my first full season in track, but I ended up a 3x state champ.

Just sayin.

granted, I wasn't a runner, but still...

Wait, why can't she run on her own? I started running when I was 14 (Atlanta) and always ran on my own in my neighborhood. This was only 10 years ago. A 13 year old is old enough to be on her own for an hour. She can carry a cell if need be. I've not been to Houston but is the crime really that much worse than Atlanta there?

*In case it sounded like it (did when I reread it) I'm not trying to judge but just honest question and my opinion

Have her run the area between John and Peg`s house and she can check in at each end...that would be safe. So she goes from John`s to Peg`s checks in and then back again

Whatever you can do,
Or think you can, begin it.
Boldness has power, and genius,
And magic in it.

Well, I think CC is a great idea. Never heard of anyone ever being cut from a cc team, maybe somewhere, but I've never heard of it.

Going to a track isn't a bad idea either..

Some good suggestions in this thread.

I'm at the other end of the spectrum, in that my daughter is a very good runner, but is really having trouble "enjoying" it.
