I need to send an email to someone and tell them about something they need to be aware of, but I dont want them to be able to trace it back to me. I've set up an anonymous email address, but I want to make sure that the IP address will not come back as belonging to be or being in my town. How would I do this?

Send the e-mail to me and I'll send it to the person via an anonymous account.

Or me.

That's about the only way to do it without hacking or some fishy programs

If you are using some sort of web mail, all you need to do is go to a library or some other place with public computers.

It would still show up as an IP from her town.

I had thought about asking someone to send it for me, but I didn't want to ask someone else to get involved in this crap! ha!

Also, I didn't know there'd be a way to track down the IP address of the person who set up the account.

This is all so dumb! I swear I'm not trying to go anything sinister! biggrin.gif

Beneath the blonde hair and perky "can-do!" demeanor lies malevolent darkness.

Step 1: post the e-mail on the forums.
Step 2: Use a proxy to surf to your anon e-mail account and send it from there.

Uh- am I the only one who thinks that maybe an email that you're going through so much trouble to hide the source of maybe isn't really worth sending anyways?

I'd wonder if it's something she really wants to send.

I think, ask yourself if you do get found out would you still be glad you did it? Of not, don't do it.

It's something that without a shadow of a doubt that I would want to know about it, if it were me. However, I, most likely, would not want to know who it was coming from.
