Yahoo! I did it! I finally got the nerve to run my first 1/2 and it was awesome! I finished in 2:28, which isn't smokin' fast, but hey...it was much better than I thought I'd do! Not bad for someone who was 96 pounds heavier 5 years ago!

My toes started cramping a bit somewhere between mile 10 and 11...any suggestions to prevent that next time?

This was the inaugural Zooma Women's 1/2 Marathon in Atlanta yesterday. I loved the course! What a great city! I'd never been through downtown. I was so impressed!

Downtown Atlanta impressed you???

You need to get out a bit more.

Congrats on your race.

Great work! For cramps, I recommend eating plenty of potassium (banana) and staying hydrated.

Awesome!

I've done three, now. I can relate to how great it feels for you. It opens up new possibilities.

Pretty soon, you'll have marathon dreams like me!

Good job, good time!

Also, I noticed less toe cramping as my body adapted to longer distances.
Certainly try the potassium too.
Fun!

Congrats! I think the half is my fav distance to run. I always feel really proud of myself when I finish one. And I've seen the most improvement in my running at that distance. Good for you, it's a really nice accomplishment!
