hmmm.....
IF you count the last 9 months as roughly 30 days each...
that's 270 work days.....
You've ATTENDED 267 of them.....

That's a 98.888888888888888888888888888888888888% attendance rate.

oy!
Someone needs more to do if they've got problems with THAT!

WAIT!!!

No......
That's 9 x 4 x 5.....(I counted the weekends up there....)
180.....
you've attended 177

Ok...you're attendance rate dropped to 98.333333333333333333333333333333%

I could probably find you a fake doctor's note on the interweb.

Or I could write a note for you.....

Dear Torque's ******* Employer,

Torque won't be able to come in to work today, as he has the bubonic plague, but should be feeling well enough to come in tomorrow.

Sincerely,

Nurse Ratchet

DH's company just announced that their new policy is a doctor's note required for even one day of being sick. I don't think that they can legally do that, but those who wish to keep their jobs probably won't argue about it. He looked up on line the other day, and apparently is pretty easy to get a fake doctor's note. Whodathunk?

I get 4 weeks paid vacation, 2 weeks of paid sick time (which turns into vacation if not used) and 11 paid holidays.

So yeah. I've missed more than 3 days of work in the last year. Probably in the last two months.

We're expected to be at work. Period. Three personal days a year can be used. The expectation is communicated, and it is rare for anyone to miss a day of work. Company has terminated 3 persons in the past 30 days for missing a couple days of work.

I've been at my current job for 12 years and called out 3 times. Once because I was in a bike accident and was in the hospital.

You have a contract with the employer, they pay you for being at work and you should be there. if you job is so unimportant that you don't need to be there, then don't be alarmed when your position is no longer needed and your laid off.

I will say that 3 days in 9 months really isn't that big a deal.

I should say I almost never use my sick time. But I **** sure use my vacation time. However it is planned ahead of time so I don't leave my employer in the lurch.

If they provide you with a benefit, it is yours to use. It's part of the contract.

We get PTO which in my case works out to 5 weeks/year plus 8 days holiday.

The PTO is used any way we wish - vacation, sick, or just stay at home, as long as we have our manager's approval in advance.

Yeah, I get pto as well. I find it much better than having designated sick days. As I rarely get sick, those days always went unused and I felt somewhat cheated. I never felt comfortable calling in sick when I wasn't sick.

Well I got 13 weeks vacation per year and I had a total of 656 accumulated unused sick days when I retired.

That was over THREE YEARS.

Some people had ZERO

I think they got their money's worth from me.

As Woody Allen says. "99% of life is just showing up."

We can't carry sick time over, JC. Otherwise we'd have people with ridiculous amounts, too! It converts to vacation at the end of the year, and we are only allowed to carry 280 hours of vacation (just over 6 weeks).

Did they pay out your sick time? I presume not...

WHen I left my teaching job in Ohio, they paid my unused sick leave at 2 to 1, so I got 50% of the hours that I accrued in pay. Personal days are use or lose each year.

Those who have the jobs where you only get 3 days off a year...and are expected to be there.....I think that's great in principle.....but, these days, I don't want someone who's got something communicable coming to work. I don't need your germs, thank you very much. Stay home, work from home if you're able, but keepaway from me.
