When it's really bad, I grab the vanilla flavored with the sugar crunchy sprinkle things.

I'm such a fatass.

But your in NH. You have the benefit of being able to get SunBeam. We don't have it down here and I grew up on it. My mom likes wonder but I always fought for the SunBeam.

I make these melty cheesy bread things. they're a cousin to the calzone. Basically it's fresh bread with melted Muenster, heavy cream, Parmesian, salt pepper and a bit of parsly. Warm and fresh out of the oven.

Meatloaf with fried mac and cheese

lasagna

roasted cauliflower with Fontina cheese

Beef stroganoff over mashed potatoes. (Egg noodles are gross!)

This recipe is the best ever! (I know Sputnik can back me up on this one!!)

OK, so I had a jar of frosting, but it was expired, so that's not helping. I'm going to go for mac and cheese now, since the Tot is asleep and I can't make it to McDs.

Yeah, I'm working my way down the list, as my comfort food (a cup of coffee and a chocolate wafer) aren't doing me any good.

So what's wrong with you?

Why do you need comforting?

Time to share.

I've gotten 2 phone calls today.

From my mom: My "auntie June" (an adopted family member...she never married and didn't have any siblings, so she became part of our family and is a DEAR friend on top of it...)...well, her sarcoma metastisized to her lungs. She's got 2 weeks, so they say. I adore this woman. She's got amazing stories of living in Kenya doing relief work for 25+ years...

From my MIL: DH's cousin's little girl, one month younger than TinyE...(we're close with them, too)... she had a tumor in a very private place removed and went through chemo and radiation therapy a year ago. It's back. They're not going to treat her again via chemo and radiation. They're going to try herbal remedies. I understand their desire to keep her from the pain of chemo and all, but...

I've just taken it all to heart. I guess I take too much to heart too often lately. Hence the need for comfort food...

If only I had chocolate frosting...maybe I'll make some.

TinyE is doing well. It's hard to look at him and not cry, imagining what it might be like if he were needing chemo and radiation. Makes me glad he's OK, but sad that my family is going through this...
