Hey gang,
Long time no post! I hope y'all don't mind my posting about this event coming up end of April that I thought some Boston-area peeps might be interested in.
The event:
My wife and I are putting together a team or two of 10-12 people for the 2nd Annual Avalanna Spin-A-Thon: Pedal for a Purpose on April 26-28th at the Latitudes Sports Club in Methuen, MA. It's a 24 hour spin "relay" and each team would be responsible for raising $1000 and of course pedalling for 24 hours divided into shifts, length depending on how many people we have on the team and how long people would like to ride. There will be so much fun, guest speakers, dJ's , bands, entertainment, food, drink & wonderful raffle / auction items. Those training for an early Oly, HIM or IM this would be a great way to get a long ride, have fun and help find a cure.
Background:
My very good friends' little girl, Avalanna, died last year from a rare form of brain cancer called AT/RT. You might have actually seen it on the news as she was known as "Mrs. Bieber". This is the second time they are doing this event, now in Avalanna's honor, and the proceeds go to Cure AT/RT.
So, if you're interested please post, send me a PM on Facebook or whatever. I think it'll be a lot of fun. I'll also post back with more details.
I guess this too means it's time for me to get back on the bike! That could lead to swimming and running and other things -- crazy talk!
