Ok, so I figure just about everyone in the board will check this thread out

the question: Does your booty jiggle? Can you feel it jiggle? Do elite runner booties jiggle?

The background....this is a serious question from someone who is "booty impaired". I've always had no butt. Flat as a board, so I'm told. I now know it's because I was never engaging my glutes for, well, just about anything. So I've never ever jiggled before.

for 2 years now almost I've been working on fixing bike and running positions and doing strength work and I've made real strides. This much I know, because I've seen the changes in performance. However, I cannot see my booty so I cannot tell you for sure. Plus, even if I did see my man booty, I must say I'm not much of a judge anyway.

BUT I digress.. on my thursday run, I noticed some booty jigglin going on. Yeah, my booty cheeks were actually bouncing around. I must say.... it was a bit weird. Exciting perhaps? Nah, just freakin weird to have a body part jiggle that never used to jiggle.

So?

Ron, what kind question is THIS?! I was about fall off the chair.
I have never noticed my butt jiggling while running. But that doesn't mean it doesn't. I got to check and get back to you. However, my butt does jiggle according to my DS. He sometimes uses it as a punching bag.

I can't wait for LRR to chime in here.

You need one more option: no booty at all - flat as a board.

My butt is all glute. There is exactly zero jiggle. The Ironmate tells me that when I wear certain shorts I have old man butt, whatever that is.

yes. but I would have sworn otherwise, until a videotape showed otherwise.

seriously, seeing that in slowmo is a pretty sight.

jello butt here. All sorts of wiggling jiggling going on.

I have no butt. There is no jiggle or waggle when I run. I wear compression shorts anyway, but I would say no

Monicas answer "you don't have enough ass to jiggle".

Exactly. DW says the same thing.

Always had a little 'junk' in the back...post baby I think my ass needs a sports bra. I'm working on it, as I have just purchased some dangerous short running shorts that are not public ready.

Yes, mine jiggles right in harmony with my thighs. It always has no matter what size/age I've been. I am a pear and always will be - genetics are a wonderful thing but so are my Desoto tri shorts - the compression helps alleviate some of the jiggle.

Yes.
I was sort of in denial about it until I was forced to wear the "bun-hugger" track and cross country uniform bottoms this year. Girls skinnier than me had jiggle so there's no way I don't. Thighs, butt, all of it. I don't usually notice it though when I'm running, thank goodness!!

Highly unlikely for me, though I've never watched my own butt while I run.

No butt jiggle here. But then, last time I checked, I was less than 100lbs soaking wet. Need to eat more, I think...

I think just like Wreckx-N-Effect, ronbo just wants to zoom-a-zoom-zoom and a boom-boom

Seriously, I have no clue...but I have gotten rid of the flat butt I had at least a little bit with all the glute work I've done lately

Yep. I once had a friend tell me she didn't want to use the gym equipment behind me on the treadmill cuz all she could focus on was my butt jiggle. A jiggly bum isn't as annoying as bouncing boobies...even more so if you're a dude I would assume!

I completely disagree. Bouncing boobies are not annoying at all.

BTW I'm not saying a bouncing booty is bad or good, but I just never noticed it bounce. I suspect my compression shorts are dying maybe, that's what DW says. She says I still have deminimis-bootious and I need to work on that.

hip bridges. hip bridges, straight leg with feet on an exercise ball. hip bridges, bent knee, feet on an exercise ball. hip bridges, one foot on a medicine ball, one leg in the air. hip bridges, while up slowly (very slowly) lift one foot just an inch off the ground w/out letting your hips drop or tilt to the side. then the other food. then the first foot, then the other foot. then down.

but don't blame me when your glutes hurt.

Yeah on the hip/glute bridges...that will get those glutes going. Throw in some clam shells and bird dogs and you've got a good solid starting routine to work into harder stuff

Personally, I've been dragged through many a race by someone else's well formed and possibly jiggly booty - but never all that excited or concerned about whether my own was jiggling or not.

Ditto.. there is nothing better than PaceBooty.. Sadly, I usually can't keep up with the REALLY good pace booty..

So are you saying slower pace booty isn't as good as faster pace booty?
