Quick check-in from the Seattle area:

No Internet Thurs-yesterday.

Ran at the coast. Did 10.3 miles today with 7x1 mile at tempo pace. Hit my paces so I'm feeling pretty good. Can't wait to try my new sweatvac hat out when I get home

Kick ass runs so far today people!

Great VTFU runs and reports Crane, BigG, Tim, and CoachT!

I've been in a running funk. Sometimes, I get anxiety about heading out the door. Lately, it's been tied to the weather. So Friday, as I was contemplating not running, I kept reading posts about Voo runs on FB and it was obvious not running was not really an option.

Today, I did 15 miles and they felt good and were at the proper pace, so yay!

Loved watching the video RIL!

Hello - 6.4 miles at what I thought was ez pace...turned out to be more around marathon pace, but they felt ez (either means that's a good sign or I need to tweak my definition of ez).

((((Kath & boB))))  But however your runs turned out, the fact that you VTFU'ed and got them done is more than enough IMHO.

Crane - beautifully said, as always :)

PS--I'm the queen of anxious--trick to try next time: cold, cold water.  slows down the heart rate a bit.  :)

Got out for a hooomid 4 mile hike today through a local metropark.  1st time I was there, and considering how long of a drive it is from where I live, it was just OK.  I've seen better/prettier trails at some of the other parks.

Way to go Nettie!

Thanks for asking, Craney - BUT... Slowest mile in the five years I have done it.  6:21.  :(  Not sure what happened.  Obviously I just didn't have it.

Even worse was DS#1.  He was really hoping for sub-6:49 (his last mile race).  He went out way too fast and was dying at the end.  Had to walk a bit, but I got him to keep going (ready to puke and DNF).  He came in at 7:29.

DS#2 was our big sleeper.   He wanted sub 9 and came blazing it at 8:11!  Woot!  It was fun and I loved seeing all my buds out there.  But it sucked having a ceeerap race.  :(

Nice work Nettie, Bard, Moonie and Runninlaw Family!

I got out for 11 to complete my Voodoo weekend efforts.  90* at the start, 92* at the end.   I stepped on the scale when I got back and it read 156.1!  That's a new low mark for me, too bad it's mostly dehydration and I'll gain a bunch back before the weigh-in tomorrow.

Oooooo calfzilla !!!  Nice running RIL and family!  I too would take a 6:anything mile!  shee-it, I think 7:00 would put me in the ER.

YAY Nettie!  Y'now, I have found the less I think about the run the easier it is to go.  If I start waffling on going, or stressing about the weather or whatever the case may be, I stop thinking and just start going through the motions - getting on my running duds, filling my water bottle, setting my Garmin out to sync, etc.  By the time I start running I forgot what I was stressing about and realize how good the run feels.  I think I'm going to post something by my door that reads:

"You have never regretted going for a run, you only regret the times you didn't."

Just did a half hour of soothing yoga and I am going to bed!

Good night my 30s friends.

it's been a year, huh?  wow.

i was originally gunning for a 20 miler this weekend but pull a groin/hammy/glute, take some time off, hit the road for a week+ and plans seem to fall apart pretty quickly.  so i did 1/2 of what i was planning.  i had only run once in ~ 12 days so i reckon that 10 miles was about as far as i wanted to push it and avoid shocking the system too much (injury).  funny, i was debating on hitting 7-11 tonight to buy a pint or two of B&J tonight to make up for the mileage loss.

nice mileage folks!

nice wheels ril.  i tried to scroll up on the picture  but it stopped at just above the knee.  imagine my disappointment!

bigG - you are killing it.  nice work!

duck, 156?  all that talk about the belly?!?  i think my leg weighs 156.

crane, i didn't mean to offend w/my nerd comments and comic con.  i'm sure the MN comic con contingent is far more well rounded and less nerdy than the masses of characters in SD.  i had just arrived from a long week, long day and a 3 1/2 hour return to my hotel and was met w/hoards of costumed comiconers roaming the streets.  frustrated?  sure was.

i can't post from my bberry anymore either.  i'll check out the thread mentioned.

i'm in ny right now and my ride was smooth up to the hutchinson parkway.  a downed tree can throw a real snarl into the local traffic...cripes.  i can't wait to sleep in my own bed for more than one night.

i too have learned a lot here and continue to be inspired to take on new challenges b/c of you all.  i need the motivation to keep at it and often find it when checking in here whenever i can.  thanks for that.

cheers
