40x40 Thread - Week Ending 7/25/10

This is the 40x40 thread for those who run at least 40 miles per week and are over 40. This is a great motivational thread and free passes are given out generously. If you do run a race and post a RR, I'll try to link it in here.


40x40 for the week:
Dennis - 40.2 m. Some good runs and a couple not so good runs.
Econo - 40.8 m. - Strong week, includes two 10 milers and an 11.1 mile run.
Paul - 50 m. - 5 runs add up fast for Paul. Had a 10.7, 11.3 and 12 miler.
Peter - 40.47 m. - Yet another runner that had 3 runs over 10 miles this week.
Rassmussenmp -  60.3 m. - Includes a 12 & 17 miler.
 
FREE PASSES:
Ripvanracer - 26.43 m. - Includes a Masters PR for a 4 miler in an extremely fast 23:20.

I hope to be back next week -- Coach says I have to limit it to 35 miles.

I should be back around 40 this week with only one race planned for next weekend.

 

sun-10 miles including a 31:11 5 mile race

mon-9 hilly miles in 64:14...80° and 80% humidity

tue-off

wed-9.25 more hilly miles 67:30...88° and who cares about the humidity when it is that hot!!

thu-6.86 miles in 46:55  another sauna

fri-off

sat-4.75 warmup for 5k.  Race cancelled

 

Ended the week with 39.86 miles JUST missing 40 when the 5k was cancelled.

32.20 miles for the week...life got in the way of running this week.

T - 7.8 miles

W - sick

Th - sick

F - rest

Sa - rest

Su - 13.8 miles

Thanks Dennis,

 

This week still finds me in Japan, but will be flying home on Friday.  Taper week for next week's marathon in Juneau.

 

Mon:  7 miles - 8 miles aerobic paced, very H&H

 

Tues:  4 miles - 5 miles recovery

 

Wed:  8 miles - 11 miles aerobic paced, H&H, by the end my feet felt like I was running in pools for shoes 

 

Thurs:  5 miles - 6 miles very sweaty recovery paced.

 

Fri:  5 miles (fly home to WA) - 5.0 miles, easy, legs very tired from the flight

 

Sat:  13 miles - 6.5 miles including some @ 7:30 pace.  turnover felt slow. 

 

Sun:  6 miles - 14.0 miles very nice run in the cooler temps of WA (78 degrees vice 85) and lower humidity (55% vice 90%) very enjoyable and a little faster paced up and down rolling hills.

 

 

total: 55.5 miles
