I'm not sure about marathons but I know of a couple of places in canada that have runs for prostate cancer on fathers day. That might be a date to start your search in the race calendar.

Team In Training supports cancer research, but I don't think it is specific to prostate cancer. I also don't think that there is a marathon that is specifically geared toward raising funds for prostate cancer but you can check individual marathon websites to see if there is a charity associated with that marathon that would support prostate cancer research. Boston and New York City would be good bets - let me check.

Not sure what your time window is, but I have a few friends that have done fundraising for men's health (prostate & testicular cancer in particular) in the month of November ... referred to as
Movember through the website I linked.
You can raise funds pretty much anytime for any US Non-Profit using
Firstgiving. You can associate it with a race, or anything you want. You can do the same with the
American Cancer Society.
The
Quad Cities Marathon in IL in September appears to have fundraising set up to support prostate cancer too.
Good luck to you & your wife and to your father in law.

Here's a prostate cancer race in Indiana. I registered last year, but didn't make it to the race:

It's focused on local fund raising, but you might find similar closer to home. Best wishes to you with your deployment and FIL with his treatment. Joe was a good friend to all of us.
