Hey Walt, any interest in Sugarloaf next year ? You could do one of those Marathon Maniac things ... It is on 5/16, 14 days before VCM. Not sure about VCM for me, I am finding Memorial day weekend is a good time to travel back to Michigan since the people I am visiting get the Monday off. We'll see when the time gets closer.

I might be doing the 1/2, which depends on the lottery, of course.

I like when someone misspells "cretins"

OK I usually go to my running buddy's house to his BBQ anyway.

Oh heck, you can come to both. I'm planning on having loud music, lots of alcohol and a wide variety of charred carrion. And cake.

And I'm sick of turning into a fat blob. Needed something to get me to turn it around.

How's the training going for everyone?

I did not get a lottery spot for the 2 person relay, so I'm not sure if I'm running or not.

I guess I'm not the only one of us who has lost a step or two. Since October I've had a lot of physical maladies that reduced my training mileage to near zero. It started with four months of pelvic and back pain. I slogged through my slowest ever marathon (4:20) in Florida in February on no training. The back pain has cleared up. Then three weeks ago I took a serious fall while skiing. I think I got a mild concussion but definitely had a delayed case of whiplash from the fall. So right when I said it was time to get serious about running I missed another ten days. I was on Hydrocodone and Valium for the pain! My neck injury is better and I'm finally back to running 5 - 6 days per week (as of only last Thursday). I'll be ready to run VCM in 55 days from today but won't be setting a personal course record.

Glad to hear your feeling better. I really didn't want to have to fill in for you at RTB.

I've been having difficulty regaining my speed as well. I'm probably looking at a 4:00 to 4:30 marathon at VCM. I'm just hoping to use this training as a springboard to bigger and better things for the fall.

With an 8 to 2 girl - boy ratio on our team there's no way I'm giving up my spot!
