OK, that has to be the coolest thing I have ever seen at a race. (or maybe I just live in a small world). If you can just improve your run....

what was used to track you? or is it just based on times?

You can click the results on the top and it will give you all the numbers.

I had an OK swim, 27 and some change. I could have gone 25, but had to sight a lot on the last little leg. I just coldn't figure out where I was going.

t1 was a long run to the bike and then the usual.

The bike was a NIGHTMARE. A complete let down. I didn't ride the course and by what the web site said it was supposed to be essentially flat, so out of t1 I dropped the hammer. The course wasn't bad hill wise, but just enough that I couldn't catch my breath for the first 5 miles. I had to slow and let my HR and breathing catch up. Then the bumps. I hit one and my aerobars tilted downward to a 45 degree angle. When that happened the cable tightened and I lost half the cassette in the rear. I could not get the chain to sit even because of the pull on the cable.

t2 30 seconds.

The run was a complete nightmare and failure. I had the energy to run. I felt great except my stomach. I ran the first 3 miles with my ass cheeks clenched together. After that the stomach relaxed and I was able to run again. I probably negative split the run by 10 minutes, on a 10K.

A let down for sure. I really thought I had a chance to do well. I wouldn't have been on the podium even if I had met my goal of 2:22. The guys in my AG just hammered the course. 2:38 was NOT what I wanted for an olympic distance race.

If you want to do a great race I highly suggest this race. The new course is awesome. The bike was a bit bumpy, but overall very good. Open to traffic, but the cars were not an issue. The run course was one of the best I have ever run. Most of it was run on gravel, I guess and old railway which made it easy on the body.

Their is always next time.

It's based on times. It has a lot of cool stuff to look at if you click the tabs. Graphs and times and of course the cool tracking thingy.

Yes and yes. Add the bad bike and you see why I was upset.

All is good. Next time.

The bike course brings you through the national park or some such thingy. They did leave a pretty good climb near the turn around. If my handlebars weren't facing downward I could have really got some good speed.

Wow. What a sweet bit of techno-fluff. The only bummer I saw was being passed in the last .25 miles or so by an AG rival .... Otherwise, sweet!

Fixed it for ya.

Not real sure. I had a full suit and it wasn't that bad. I think it was colder last year. I think one of the reasons the swims are so fast is because the water is so salty and cold. You bob like a cork and never overheat.

Well, I think ya did great considering the cold water, bike mechanical problem and GI issues! You'll be back next year to crush this course!!!

BTW, Cranberry 2008 is available at ZumTri.

I think they take the total time and use like a super computer to crunch the numbers. The coolest thing is the time counts as you move and you can rewind it to see exactly where you got passed. Although I don't even think that is completely accurate. They only had a few sensors on the course so they knew at the sensor points where I was, but the rest is based on average pace of each competitor. I negative split the last half and was not passed on the return trip, but the video shows I was. The guy passed me at the turn and I kept him in sight for the whole way back. Like I said, I had a huge negative split.

Sheldon...since I'm your assistant coach, I can say this:

You EVER happy w/your run? You're always disappointed w/it. Why do you think you don't perform up to your ideal race running time?

I'm just curious cuz the run's always disappointing for me too

Testing!
