Fila Sanctuary iii No good in the snow!

I LOVE my Fila Sanctuary iii shoes but they have 2 problems that will force me to find another shoe.

1) I just went for a run in 1 inch of fresh snow. The snow got stuck in the hole in the heel. It built up and created a ball of ice that was impossible to run on.

2) My usual running site is running out of them and no local retailers carry them

Can anyone out there who liked these shoes recommend another shoe that fits and rides the same.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I can sure see how they would be no good in the snow! I ran a trail race last weekend and opted not to wear my Filas because of the nearly smooth bottoms. But you sure can't beat them on the street.
I've never run in the Pearl Izumis. I need a substantial arch which the Filas provide. I ran in the Mizuno Inspire before the Filas.
You might try going over to the Runners World message board and posting in their shoe forum. There are a ton of "shoe people" who will chime in regarding shoe characteristics, fit, etc .... Of course, all advice needs to be taken with a grain of salt, but I've gleaned some useful information there.
