Default Montreal Kicksters..... & Active/CR refugees

A bunch of slightly wacky EX-CoolRunners based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. English/Francais.... no problem!
Quick as lightning or slow as molasses.... we're all here....even the odd tri nut...
Beer, Cake & Dimsum..... or food of any description: our second passion.
Long runs on the mountain....
"There are no strangers, only friends we don't recognise..."
So sign up people!

and just in case you need a link back to Active (it ain't CR)

A new year and a nice new site...... let's do it

Thumbs up I'm in and I'm liking it.

As you said, quick easy set-up and it's actually even nicer and easier using than CR! And the smilies are fantastic!

I say we should start a revolution and get all the CR folks over here ... I'm gonna post about it in Active.com Multisport and see if we can't abandon ship too ... I tried updating my profile at least 10 times and have to log in at least twice to get to the Montreal thread which totally sucks and takes up way too much space.

Hey Grommit, you and Special K coming to my B-day Jan 19? And how about the others?

Cheers,
Sally

*I especially love that I can keep my name here*

..... it occurred to me that the way we all found the CR site via google or another search engine ...... so I tried a search for montreal running and sure enough CR came up again on the first page.... but no Kick. So if I put Montreal runners running quebec running, Montreal runners running quebec running,Montreal runners running quebec running,Montreal runners running quebec running,Montreal runners running quebec running,Montreal runners running quebec running,Montreal runners running quebec running,Montreal runners running quebec running,Montreal runners running quebec running ..... a bunch of times maybe this site will show up on the first page too...

edited to add: nope that doesn't work.... anybody any ideas?

I think I'll go for a run and get me some of that yummy slush

went round the block 6,35 miles... slow n slippy.... but nice... oh so nice

then shoveled for 45 mins ..... was gonna ski tomorrow but my 14 year old has a sore throat... and he's being a totally obnoxious wanker... so I'll just let him veg out with the wii....

doesn't this board feel so much better? man I was getting fed up fuckin about with the Active crap

I'm gonna pretend to work on Monday..... but for all intensive purposes I'm done 'til the 7th..... woofuckinghoo!

Good Morning MP,
sorry to hear of your loss.... we are a bit spread out around town, some on the south shore, a couple in Laval, a few lucky ones within running distance of the mountain.... the mountain is probably where we hook up most often but with the winter conditions (and a few injuries) it doesn't happen much these days.
As for myself, I can run from my back door to the summit in about 45 minutes, it's a killer workout that goes up Wilderton, pass by the CEPSUM, through the woods by the cemetary and then on the trails to the top.... I'll be doing the trail part of the run in the snow with my puppy later this morning....
so if you need some company, you're not too far away and you don't mind a little snow gomez & I would be happy to have you along.....

...... started at the Cem. gates and had to plough through the first 200 yards of arse-deep snow... felt mighty silly then trudged up to the top, one loop, went down the stairs from the lookout, back down to the angel and then ran back up to the car..... I'm guessing about 8-9 miles.

Nice conditions, not too cold & no wind.....a dozen or so runners loads of walkers, xc-skiers, snow-shoers and at least halfa dozen very intrepid mountain bikers.

going by the "view counter" on the Front Page there's been over a hundred folk take a peek... we've all tuned into lurkers? maybe we're all too busy preparing our figgy puddings.... wrapping & stuffing.....

Anybody care for a group run tomorrow at about 8? maybe meet at the angel and saunter to the top? the forecast is calling for 2 degrees & light rain.... yummy

have a good one

grommit

......this is almost turning into a Blog

Talking I'm back

Great to see that you guys have moved here. Seems to me a lot better than Active website. Big thanks to Grommit for finding this site. Big thanks as well to Roly who told me about putting my Training Log at RunningAhead. My log is back and I'm happy.

Hi everyone. It took a while but I finally found you all. Whew. Did a difficult 16K today through New Glasgow. I thought it would never end! How do those Ultra's do it? I am sore all over, not the least of which, all of the injured areas from last summer......dang! That means back to the pool. .....even more boring than a long run. I think I'll take up cycling......at least you get to sit on you a** while working out.
